My dealer won't budge from MSRP on the seat covers ($125(front) and $199(rear) plus tax of course). Is that the best I can do, or are there vendors that are offereing them at more competitive rates?
Thanx.

I got mine from Classic Mini, which often sells below MSRP. They are a sponsor on this site and are located in Mentor, OH.

I paid $100 each for the front seat covers and $159 for the rear and did the installs myself. The instructions were not 100% accurate, but it was still easy enough to do yourself.

Did they ship it to you? You know I never realized the fron seat covers were sold seperately. The MINIUSA website does not indicate that, and my MA also never realized it. So I just learned something!

Yes, they shipped it to me ASAP and did not charge tax since I was out of state.

mokeee:

What seat covers did you get? Are these the stretchable seat covers that work with the seat airbags? Got any pics?

These are the black seat covers that mini sells. So they are supposed to work with the airbags. However, while installing them, I couldn't figure out how the airbag would actually inflate through the seat cover. Nevertheless, there was a label for the airbag on the lateral side of each front seat.

I'll see about taking pictures this weekend. I am due to take some any way and I can take a few of those.

They looked a bit rough when installed, but after sitting on them for about two weeks, they are much better looking/fitting.

Although I didn't look into any other company's seat covers, final verdict is I am happy with these.

I'm thinking the OEM seatcovers probably rip through a planned seam where the airbags are in order to deploy, just like the seats themselves.

Here is a picture of bloo's seatcovers Wet Oakelys from Diamond Racing. They are wetsuit material, real cushy, stretchy and fit real tight. Another plus is that they don't let you slide around at all in the twistys

They take about 4 to 6 weeks to delivery as they make them according to your choice of colors and piping.

OOPs forgot to say the openings on the sides of the covers are for the bags to pop out of.
