Viper stripes... need help locating.

I'm looking for viper stripes but haven't found any I like. I want them at least as wide as the front scoop and I actually want them "cut around" the mini emblem.

I've checked the normal outlets like AE, etc, etc but just can't find what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know if a vendor sells a stripe like that? The ones I've seen are too narrow or too wide or the right width but not cut out around the mini emblem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

I think you will have to pay a visit to your local sign shop to have some custom made.
The scoop is not that wide...so to have the stripes at least that wide but "cut out" around the emblem, they will have to be laid close together, which may not look right depending on the width you use.
Find a MINI with the sport stripes and add a little width to the outside edge and take that dimension to your local sign shop.

The ones on my car are custom from my friend that does vinyl for a living...

...I know you have an R56, just posting my pic for reference. Good luck.

Thanks Partsman,

I basically want what you've got but with about a 2" gap in between the stripes. That would allow me to carve out the emblem shape.

Thanks,

Mark

BTW. Being in the bodyshop business, I couldn't help but notice that your friend didn't make the stripe parallel on the top of the bumper. It's a common mistake because of the angle of the bumper but if you look at the stripe itself, the top part of the bumper stripes flare outwards.

Not meant to be critical but after being in the bodyshop business for 25 years, you tend to notice these things. Still looks great though.

BTW... I did realize something you did that I'll be forced to do. That is, paint the scoop black to match the stripe.

Thanks for the pic.

Thanks and no worries...I hear what your saying, good eye.

I'm actually thinking of removing the stripes, the car has been striped since I bought it...first silver, now black. I think it's time to change the look.

You're welcome, and yea...it will blend in nice, if you paint the scoop black.

I will be putting the Dark Silver scoop back on once I finish the FMIC.

This is exactly what I want, man that looks sweet. I'm curious (posted this a week ago in another thread, but no replies) how it is when you wax the car how you handle things with the stripes? I would imagine getting wax on the flat black vinyl is not recommended?

Carbon Fiber hood scoop goes well with black stripes and holds up in the heat.

I just did mine a few weeks ago. Bought the vinyl for about $100 and cut the stripes myself.
It's hard to tell from the crappy picture, but I first put down an 8" gloss black stripe with a 2" gap (I think) and then put down a second 7" stripe in flat black on top of it. The skinny stripes on the sides are gloss black and are 'centered on/same width as' the window squirters.
Install is pretty easy, but as someone pointed out already, be careful of the curves. They will throw the stripes way off course. Use a hairdryer to heat the vinyl to conform to the tricky spots.
