Confirm actual color please
Went to AutoZone and wanted to purchase their red brake caliper paint set. However, the paint looked more orange than red. Can anyone confirm this? Is it reddish with a hint of orange? Or is it fire engine red? I ended up getting the spray paint which was a darker red but spraying is gonna be a paint in the ***
Most of the brake kits i have seen are not a true red. Most have an orange tinge to them. You may want to check out Dupli-Color Kits, i seem to remember they have one that is actually red.

Yea, the duplicolor kits are the only kits local stores carry. Unfortunately they truly look orange-y red to me on the box. The guys at the store concur but none have personal experiences. I did however find a spray version that's perfectly the color I want(almost a darker burgundy red that would look awesome with my NFR). but being sprayed on, it's gonna be a pain. I might just make it a long project by taking off the whole caliper-however I don't feel like bleeding the brake line. I'll be attempting this in below freezing temps though(around 20's) so I'm not sure how it'll turn out.
The Dupli-color brush on kit (which is what the AutoZones here selll) is pretty darn red. Brighter than fire engine red or Chili red - but doesn't really have a noticeable orange hue. It's a quite different color than the Duplicolor spray on paint (which IMHO is ugly - I've used it on other parts and later repainted them). None of these paints look like the color on the box/can. Nor do they look the same wet as they do dry.
i just got done painting mine w the duplicolor kit this weekend. its red..fire engine red. looks great. i used like 3 coats or so.. it was kind of a pain rolling around on the floor because they were still attached by the lines, but worth it. wanted to get the whole thing lol

advice: buy extra brushes... the same metal type ones... the one in the kit fell apart.
if you have more than a few hundred miles.... might be good to grab 2 extra cans of brake cleaner

also with the rims back on its noticeably darker (most always shaded by the wheel)... if you still have stock brake pads theyll be dark burgundy in a week of so lol

Which Duplicolor red is this when I visit the website there are several options of red. I want to put this on a Chili red car so it is important it doesn't clash.
