I want to get rid of my egg yolks.

I wanna get rid of those lame orange lenses on the headlights of my Mini.
Does anyone know how to take them off? Or get white lenses?

What about the tailights?

Thanks!

I've come to the realization that the egg yolks don't look bad at all on my pure silver cooper (not sure about chili red, though), but I was tempted to get ChubbyChecker's clear lenses.

I like the orange on mine. The standard S side markers I don't like with the clear lens. One of these days I'll change them to the Cooper lenses.

I've never been a fan of the clear lens fad.

Ok so I have one more question. When the signals flash, they are a light yellow color (close to white). Should I buy different bulbs, or is it legal to have a light yellow signal? I definetly dont want to get a ticket.

pick up amber bulbs with a silver coating so that when the light shines in the lens they do not look amber. You can get these at your local auto parts store

Those took under 5 days from U.K. to NY and they are the P21's that you need that don't have the notch at the 180 degree angle - rather the angle is closer to 135 degrees b/w notches on the bulb.

i.e. - perfect fit although replacing the drivers side rear was a serious pain to get a hand next to the amp.

Wouldnt shipping be pretty expensive from UK to USA? Would it be possible to just go to a Checker Auto Parts store and give them my old bulb, and say I need the version of this that is clear but flashes amber?

That has included shipping. Was $41 total on my credit card. - And even better all the pins fit perfectly.

so I ordered these from Motorbulbs and they didn't fit - and yes - they do have that 135 degree notch, but apparently on my car (halogens, 10/2007 built) the sockets are a tad smaller and have a 180 degree notch).

Any idea why and what should be the correct bulb for me please ?

I'll swing by Autozone today try to find a silver-yellow bulb there...

I just ordered some tint off ebay I believe it was just a 1sq foot sheet. I traced the outline of the reflector on the back of the tint paper. I then cut the outline a little bit bigger than what I traced and just applied to reflector. They came out ok for me seeing how it was the first time I have ever tinted anything. But I love the look because I believe no one has done this mod and it makes me feel good I could be the only person in the WORLD to have the front signal's tinted. lol

It's not a fad. Most other countries don't mandate an amber turn signal so clear lenses have been the standard in many non-US countries for quite some time.

Now if you're talking about the completely clear rear lights fad...yeah I'm not a fan of that at all lol (dim pink brake lights FTL)
