I have to say - the install is not TOO hard (I didn't get a progressive drill bit, but a bit of wacked out madness with a 1/2" bit did the job). However... anyone with a non-black car, BE PREPARED - you can see the hood easily through the scoop. This means - either be prepared to paint the install location, or maybe do a grille on it.

Also ... once you install it, it might be a bit hard to get the nut/washer back out, depending on how wide you made the hole. I think mine isn't too wide ... so I dunno what'll happen.

Nice scoop, but I'm having a bit mixed emotions right now

I have the CF version on my car for about 6 months now. Yes you notice that you can see the exterior paint color through the huge opening in the scoop. That is because you are looking in there or you are 3 feet tall. You get over it and never really look in there. I am very **** and meticulous about my car and I have just gotten used to it. You will too.

Maybe it's less visible on yours b/c it's blue, but I can assure you that on pepper white it's not necessary to be 3ft tall. Hell, if I even take a picture of the car from the side, the paint can be seen - look at this:

M7 should have provided some type of mesh grill or something to prevent the paint from showing through and to prevent debris from settling on the engine.

If it bothers you that much you should just paint it black. It did not bother me enough after a while. So I left it alone.

Here is my solution:

m7 Ram-2 (no Vortex here) Scoop and Hot Chocolate car color

Can't see anything (it's all brown!!!), even when 3ft high...

I bought Masterd78's CF Vortex 2 and here's how it looks on a 2010 Midnight Black Clubman S with the JCW Aerokit.

You can just see the hump on the bonnet from this angle. I'm experimenting with a red scuttle here.

From this angle, I've put back the JCW scuttle.

And from the side
