...ok, they performed somewhat admirably as the whole door would have probably been splashed w/o 'm, but you can see there's room for imporvement!

I don't recall where & when I picked this mud up. Being on the wrong side of the car, that I rarely look at, I'm sure it had been there for a while before I saw it.

What you may be able to do is to buy some generic ones from the local auto parts store and cut a few inches off the bottom of them and add it to the Mini ones.
The only problem with longer ones is them getting hung up on something after your tire drives over it, and unless you are driving over curbs or something like that it should not be much of a problem.

Thanx. I definitely think the MINI likes the super wide-angle lenses than long telephotos; latter serving to flatten the perspective the longer lens you use, resulting in the car looking too squat.
I use a Pentax K10D. The lens is the much loved DA 12-24mm f/4, even if it does suffer from a lot of CA and purple fringing if you have high contrast portions in the image until stopped down about two stops or more. I shoot RAW a lot now as I do a lot of work in post [in Lightroom] balancing an image but still making it 'pop'. The image was shot @ 15mm, f/6.3, ISO400, 1/60 sec.

Example of "too squat": (notice how 'flattened' the image looks)

For this image I used one of my favorites, the Voigtlander 125mm f/2.5 (a manual focus lens of exceptional quality), coupled with the Pentax 1.7x AF Teleconverter... turns manual lens into a auto-focus lens!
1.7x applied to 125mm making it a 212mm lens!
