LED replacement bulbs for foglights/drivinglights

Has anyone replaced the OEM bulbs with LED lights for the foglights/running lights? If so, any pics? and what brand did you use?

i put in some H11 LEDs that I got off of ebay... They are btight but they don't project as much as normal lights.

I am probably going to pull them out and install Hoen Xenon match.

Spyderman,

Where did you get your bulbs. I went to a place down in Boca the other day, but service was bad and I left the store.

Can second generation Mini's also use H11?

With LEDs, does your wanning light lit up in the dash due to the lower current draw?

I believe Gen 2 Minis use H8 which are 35W instead of the Higher wattage H11.

Nope... I have had them for about 2-3 weeks and no warning light has come on...

I looked up on sylvania.com (look up automotive lighting) and it says that the fogs are H11 as well on the 2007...

I wouldn't trust the website. It lists the H7 bulbs for the headlight when in fact they are H13 types. That I'm confident of since I replaced them.

The 2008 listings seem right though, and they list the fog lights as H8 types.

I think i rather trust what's stated in the owner's manual (H8) rather than a website (H11).

Certain lights have this "lights out" feature... I don't think the fogs have this because mine are still running A OK with the LEDS. I did put LEDS on my wife's Mercedes specifically the DRLs and the sensor came on... You need to add a voltage regulator when that happens.

Spyderman33 - Are you certain that you've tried that on an R56? I think on your R53 it's fine cause the computer doesn't check it.

Dead Ringer - I was interested in doing this as well and did some search a while ago. See the link here: http://www.delta-mini.net/cgi-bin/pa...pen&ids=EL0070 Looks like this japanese sites used a combination of the PIAA lights that are specifically for the mini R53 plus resistor and some rubber parts to hold it in place. I'd be interested if someone can tell me what the resistor should be?

I could get some resistors for these LED lights (from superbrightleds.com) they sell them for a few bucks, and I could add them on which would be the same as the japanese did. I am just too lazy right now to order them, pull the wheels off and then wire them in. I know it will work, I added LED's and the resistors onto my xb for the turn signals, was easy to do. I will end up doing it, just need to find the time to do it.. You could easily do this mod and not get the warning symbol, just get the resistors when you order the lights..
