I just went through this. Sorry no pics. But if you just pull off the cap from where the release button is. Then pop the boot off from the base. I used a putty knife. With the knife you can slide it between the console and boot to find the connect points. Gently work them inward with a twist until it pops. Then simply make sure all the connect points are loose and slide the handle off.

At that point you have to cut the zip tie holding the boot snug to the back piece of the handle. Carful not to cut the boot. You will need a new zip tie to reconnect it, and reverse the directions.

Cheers
MINIACK

Oh yeeeeaaaah...I learned the hard way During the disassembly of the cover, I snaped the cheesy splastic framing on one side. No problem, can't tell once I reassembled it. I can't believe the CHEAP VINAL (sorry, forgot how to spell) they used for the cover

I ripped the ebrake boot and broke the plastic retainer trying to get mine off. 61 bucks later I had it back together but it looks very good with the chrome/satin RSpeed ebrake handle.

Looks great as a match for your Whalen.
Perhaps a little phallic for my tastes though.

No, but if I pull on it HARD during a turn, it REALLY takes me for a spin

Maybe you should name your MCS "Steely Dan"?
