So upset dont know what i am doing wrong

hi everyone.

I tried the where you make the fog light work as a taillight. Well, i have visted a total of three sites, and yes read all the threads here about it, i didn't want to splice the wires so i simply placed a jumper wire in pins 1 and 4, well after everything i have played around with and did and read i can't get the darn thing to work!! Please, what am i doing wrong? I've been here since 10 30 pm and its 1 34 am...pretty ridiculous right?

Thanks for your help guys..

For now:
1. go to sleep

For later:
1. are you sure the the jumper wire is making connection at each node?
2. have you got a ground?
3. is the bulb in the fog light still good?
4. do the tail lights still work (if not, check fuse)

oh wow....

um making a connection at each node how can you be sure if i'm just putting the wire in the pin? i push it in as much as i can...would that be makin a connection?

My ground...I'm putting one end of the wire from one pin and the other to the other pin...i thought pin 4 was the ground...?

bulb in the fog light still being good, that's a great question...

tail lights still work yes...

can't go to sleep was hoping someone would respond! :-)

Do you mean as a rear running light (not a brake light)? The popular 02-04 fog light jumper mod makes the fog turn on with the brakes only. For the rear running light, you'll have to determine which pin it is connected to and apply the jumper there. BTW, you don't have to deal with ground. All the bulbs in the taillight should already be connected to ground through another wire.

1st question (maybe it's obvious) is what year MINI you have? This was only possible on the 02-04 years.

if you have the right one make sure the diode side (usually red or has a stripe) is pushed into 1 and push down till u hear is rub against the metal connector...use some electrical tape to keep it down
