I was wondering who has toyed with the settings on the burger tune, what have you changed, and how it's holding up.
I know James has done +5 psi on the turbo from the additional jb tune (James please correct me if I'm wrong). This sounds attractive but I'm worries about blowing something.
There's always the temptation to raise the performance bar again after you get used to new power/torque. I am quite pleased with the additional power/torque I get from the Burger Stage 1 tuner. No desire to up the ante with more boost and live with an increased risk of parts failure.
I bumped mine up from 3.5 to 4.5psi over a month ago. It made a small but noticeable difference and no codes thrown so far. I'm going to wait for the full-on JB4 before I go any further.

i've been set to +5 for about 1k miles now. just recently i got a P12A5 code, which was removed by putting the MAP sensor back to OEM. Terry just put out an updated firmware on the n54tech forums that fixes those MAP issues so i'll be updating it as well putting the MAP bypass back in.
putting aside that P12A5 error, the car has been fine with +5.

I have had it plus 5 for 4-5 months, purs like a kitten. Going to Manic Stage 2 next
That depends on a number of factors, including how much boost you are asking for, the quality of the gas and the condition of things like your spark plugs.

I run +7 on a race chip and have yet to trigger a knock sensor code. Yes i do run 93 and meth.

It's hugely improbable you'll ever perceive the knock sensor feedback loop functioning; it's DSP interface with the ECU is highly advanced. The engine is *always* on the border of knock at high load; it will automatically adjust ignition and injection timing along with injection quantity and boost level to stay on the non-destructive side of knock while providing the desired torque output.
If there was a circumstance where a code would be thrown, it would be due to a component failure or a ECU calculation error where it's beyond the scope of its algorithm [aka pushing too hard with a piggyback].

Methanol is used as an endothermic spray in the intake tract or manifold to cool the induction charge to help mitigate knock. It allows for more boost and/or more aggressive ignition timing, if applicable. Oldsmobile was first to market with it back in 1962 with "turbo rocket fluid", which was basically the same stuff. BMW just announced their //M4 GTS, which uses water injection. Meth and water injection has been i also been in the aftermarket for a loooong time.
When you guys go to the dealer to get service, do you leave the tune on or do you take it off each time?
I think most take it off because they're nervous about it. But one guys' car threw an error code (probably used too low octane gas his wife put in) and he took it to the dealer with the thing on and the dealer said yeah that thing probably did it and didn't care. The problem would come if the extra boost damaged the engine somehow. The it could void the warranty.
