Vented Sunroof Height?

Hello all, I'm wondering if someone could tell me how much the sunroof sticks up when it's in the vented/retracted position. I'm in the process of finishing up a design for an R56 roof rack but need to finalize the cross-bar height above the roof.

Just my luck, I opted out on the sunroof for my baby!

Thanks - James

why not go with the factory rack? from what i have seen, the factory rack has the highest load capacity. It even has a higher load capacity than my uncles toyota sienna.

I'm actually using the stock rack points on the car with their 165# capacity which also means that the rack won't touch the paint. I'm going for a more retro look, much like the racks you'd find on the 60's era Minis and VWs but with 1-1/8" round cross-bars. You'll be able to use Thule and Yakima accessories directly, bypassing their base bars which, sadly, sit on the paint.

My main concern is that the cross bar, with say, a Yakima bike rack, will clear the sunroof when it's in it's highest position. That's why I need the opened measurement.

If you don't get the dimensions by tonight I'll post them later tonight.

Sorry we had some major storms in the area last night and I never got back onto the computer at home. I'll try to do it for you tonight.
