M7 Challenge Wing and Diffuser "New"

Moving over to this thread with our new product offering.

Years gone by and M7 has grown tremendously, more employees more capabilities etc. One part of our business has really taken of and that is
custom built composite parts, My friend Mr.M has taken a leading role
shaping and developing in-house composite solutions, everything from
the AGS-R, the C-Wing and our new M7 Diffusers. The schedule is full of exciting cool products for the next 6 months and I hope you agree that we
are going in the right direction with the products.

One question I get all the time is...... Does it work?
We have never tested the part in a lab/ wind tunnel as the price is just a little bit beyond our (most peoples) pocketbooks. With that said, a small wind tunnel facility is going to come available to us soon for some basic testing.

So I get to the butt dyno part of this story, and all I can say is WOW
There's a remarkable difference how the car feels with and without the
M7 Aero package. We added front CF splitter, the rear CF diffusers and the
C-Wing, I have to be honest I have not run the car with the parts separated
to see the difference, but there's a marked difference in sheer stickines in high speed sweepers were I hear chirps from the tires at high G-load now
nothing at the same speed and attack.

The diffuser will go on a dedicated race car shortly and we should get some
concrete feedback very soon.

As the wing is a brand new part, I expect some delay in mass quantities
so I will get back to everyone regarding price and availability very soon..

Congratulations Peter, fantastic looking products. I'll be in touch with James at islandminispeed about the CF vortex scoop and the wing all in CF in the very near future. In case you're wondering I'm the 09 JCW customer who's already ordering your Super-AGS, Intercooler(painted black) and full JCW grille kit through James.

nice looking product, however I'm a little disappointed that no testing and research went into the aerodynamics of the product. I mean, this is a product meant to produce down force and not increase drag right?

Sigh....

So what did you expect from a small MINI centric company to do, spend tens of thousands of dollars or more to satisfy a small number of customers that feels we need to do what GM or Ford would undertake.

Wind tunnel testing, rolling road wind tunnel testing, or maybe a full scale
CFD tested (we need a wireframe model) part Is way beyond what anyone in our possition would undertake as we are lucky to sell five hundred of these in the life span of the tooling.

These aerodynamic devices are well known through thousands of applications worldwide, with known effects to the dynamics of the
of the specific application.

And finally, if you read my opening text of this thread, I did mention that
we will be able to possibly test the car in a small wind tunnel soon.

Carbon Fiber ASG-R

Loving the look of the carbon fiber AGS-R , and mostly likely will be ordering one. However I don't think it would look as complete as your setup without the M7 turbo heat-shield.When do you suppose that will that be available ? Also what are the 2 pins for on the scoop of the intake for ?

don't get me wrong, I'm very excited to see the wing and it looks awesome. The cf looks great, and I'm betting that the adjustability of the wing will allow users to get the most of the wing, providing down force as necessary. It's a replica, but it seems like it's a functional one from what you've stated, it'd just be nice to see something to quantify the changes. keep up the good work.

The unit does come with the heatshield and I will have some news on
pricing and availabillity of the unit this week. The unit will sell complete
with a Aerogel insert...

The two Screws locks the AGS-R to the heatshield. The final CF AGS-R will
be CF inside and out.

The Diffuser system was developed for the JCW Aero kit, but with that said
the under-pinnings of the car is identical, allowing you to trim trim your rear valance to match the diffuser. Adding the system to an R53 is very similar
with the only difference being the hangers (simplified as the exhaust etc is in the way on the R53).
