any plans to enclose the center part of the system to problem create vacuum under the car?

And finally, if you read my opening text of this thread, I did mention that
we will be able to possibly test the car in a small wind tunnel soon.

I have to agree... I mean come on, I'm sure these products (ie. splitters, rear wings) make some measureable difference in performance but honestly, it's a box on wheels, don't most people put your stuff on for looks?

Anyone concerned enough to really be concerned with a roof wing makes measureable downforce needs to be racing something more aerodynamic than a rounded brick.

I think your products are great whether for looks or functionality.

Lets not forget to discuss the virtue of the perceived down force over the rear wheels in a FWD car.

And a question about the pretty fast corner picture. With an F stop of 22 and shutter speed of 1/13 of a second how fast was it really? 10-15 mph? But then everybody always said Peter was a great photographer.

Ok smarty pants, we just figured out that your clever enough to use Photoshop....

Your intensions are simple, wreck havoc in any M7 thread, bad mouth me to the point of slander (on your site).

All your doing here is pulling up the tread to the top of the posting and I thank you for that, with a bad taste in my mouth.

You should be ashamed of your self...

From a photographer and Photoshop king like yourself I will take that as a compliment. I don't own any sites, so I ma not sure what you're talking about. You are welcome for the bump. As always, it's my pleasure. I am not going to speculate on what that taste in your mouth is.

P.S. It's "you're" clever enough. And intentions, not intensions.

I would hardly call the Mini a brick. Here is a quote from a "Motor Trend" test of the GP: A deep front chin, profiled rockers, and unsubtle rear wing together cut the drag coefficient from 0.39 to 0.35 and at the same time bring lift to zero at both axles, which means it gets to 149 mph and does it with greatly enhanced stability. So, these kind of parts do work. And BTW, a COD of .39 was supercar stuff 15 years ago .

I stand corrected, I didn't bother to look up coefficient numbers, that's pretty impressive. Do you think it's because the car is so small so though it's not much of a wind cutting design (as compared to a ferarri, corvette, lambo) it's just so tiny there's not enough surface area to make a difference?

I know about bricks. My other driver is an H2.

Thanks for the learnin'

That's usually spelled "I'ma gonna" or "I'm-a gonna" since it's still a contraction

Back to the original thread..... whether or not the wing works with or without downforce, it looks HOT.

Unfortunately, I don't have the HP to back up the looks so it wouldn't end up on my car.

Definitely agreed. It's certainly my favorite of the aggressive styled spoilers for MINI's. And irregardless of the shutter speed or whatever....the rolling shot is hot

I look forward to seeing how these look on some other cars

That's what I said. The "fast corner" caption is a bit of a fluff, though.

Correct! But not the way that you using it...the Cadillac Catera had a cd of .33 in the 90's. it's no supercar. Heck an '89 Vauxhall Calibra had a cd of 0.26. A '59 Lotus Elite has a cd of .29

Supercars generally do not have good numbers here. A Ferrari F50 has higher cd numbers than a normal MINI Cooper S. True Story.

Supercharged with 38's and 4.56 gears... running 85-88 mph on the highway... a whopping 7.8 mpg.

Might have it sold next week. Since I bought the mini, I have no desire to drive the brick.

don't feel bad....we've gotten an H2 up to 70mph on the sand at Corolla, NC. That takes about 2 gallons to the mile

I think I said these KIND of parts. With that many flaps, holes and wings I could see why the F50 is like that.
