Meh I had a dealer contact in Germany that was offering them for 228 euro including tax. This was dealer price, The American markup is incredible.

I just received my set today, this seller is definitely legitimate. Got it for $255. Came in the factory box. Looks fantastic installed. Now for the CF downtubes, cupholder rings, shift boot ring........ Uh, Oh. What did I start?

Just getting started on personalizing my "new" 2005 S.

Oh, u r the one got it for $255.
U lucky guy, no one get his CF this lower ever. I keep watching his auctions all the time. But too bad I don't have spare money sitting around these days.

Remember to tell us how much you get it to install? I think u need to get the dealer to install cause this will involve the air bag thing & u don't want to mess it up yourself~~

It's old stock, the model is changing for good as we all know, no more R53 or R52 is all R56 and up from now.. so for the last 2 years MINI had a sale on JCW parts for the original MINI body style. some dealers stock up some don't...next sale we hope is coming soon. body kits and carbon fiber is what goes on sale most. Make sure you have a nice relationship with your parts guy so he can call you when he gets the bulletin, I will post a note when I see it on my screen.

Click on the ebay link in the first post. Go to the seller's feedback, and you'll see that bigbucky even gave feedback on the item he purchased. There are also lots of other positive feedback for this seller. Sounds pretty legit to me.

The install took a little more elbow grease than I thought it would. Getting the center piece out and then putting the new one back in requires some effort to get the two top clips connected (have to work the piece up under the dash). Otherwise it was fairly easy. I think the air bag is only an issue on the '07's+?

I understand the skepticism, but as I noted, I just bought my 2005 S. Picked it up a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure I'll be posting more as I spend more time with my "new" MINI. I'm a huge fan of forums like this. I'm an AV guy as well and spend time on AVSForum. There's no better place to get info on your hobbies but from people that share the same passion.

My only plug for the items would be that for anyone interested, I took a chance, got a great deal and love the way the dash looks in the car.

Two photos now in my gallery.

Heck, my wife tends to question money spent on this kind of stuff and even she said, "Looks great! When are you going to get those silver pieces changed over?" She was referring to the downtubes! The car came with the brushed/scratched (sorry, but I don't know how else to describe it) looking trim on the dash and door.

Morristown Mini just shipped my CF downtubes. Dash on Ebay and downtubes from Morristown will total $600 (less than 1/2 of retail). Once I get them and install, i'll update photos.

Are you going to change the dash yourself or bring it to the dealer?

i did exactly the same thing.

word of advice: keep all your old clips from your dash. These CF dashes were previously installed at some point

Did it myself. I found at least one "how to" here in the forums that helped. Took about 45 mins total.

I also have one of the 5 piece CF dashes from him.. It is definitely a great deal and just took a little bit to install it myself.. No problems at all and factory packed in the box.. Shipping was faster than I would have expected.

Already have the shift **** which I like better than I would have thought as well as the e-brake handle so downtubes would look great with the set.
