Mcameron: Are those custom brackets? I'm looking to install larger lights - I may have to go the route of an Alta bar with just two of the four lights installed to retain the licence plate. Mounting the lights on the bumper/lower bumper just looks so much more aggressive....!
those are straight up zip-tied to the grille........

the grille is actually fairly robust and a quite sturdy platform to mount lights on. i honestly feel it itsupport the weight of 4 Hella 500s quite easily, which is what i plan on upgrading those to in a few months.

Hi folks, can anyone tell me what the outside diameter of the OEM Gen 2 driving lights is? The O.D. of the reflector housing that is (excluding any mounting parts)?
TIA!

Wondering how much power from the 12v does these lights take up and how you wire them? when i get my Mini, I hope it comes already with the two in front of the hood, and then I'd like to get a row of four bigger rally-style lights on the front bumper.

Jealous! I really really really want rally lights. They're just so damn expensive.

Expensive is in the eye of the beholder. If you're handy you can DIY them for less than $100.

Well, if you insisted on oem driving lights and paid to have the dealer install them you could probably spend that much. A pair of comparable aftermarket lights can be had for less than $100. You'll have buy (or fab) your own mounting brackets and spend a couple of hours on the install if you go DIY.

Lights finally installed. Outmotoring mid brackets and Hella 500FF driving lights. Had to modify the bumper to make fit but the finall look is worth it.

Even if you buy a mount from one of the vendors you can always bolt on lights from elsewhere on the cheap..

Mcameron, what size are your larger ones? I ask because I plan on something that size but I want to put it behind the grille

Shouldn't be too difficult; just make your own mounting brackets and bolt the lights directly to the grill. See my gallery for an example of diy brackets.

Does anyone have the Specs / Measurements for the Out Motoring Gen 2 MID Light Brackets?? I want to make my own, but can't seam to find the measurements and I don't want to pull the bumper off twice... once to measure, second time once I finally get around to fabricating the light bracket!
