Here's a picture of my recently installed Hella 1000's on a self-made bracket. There's a thread on it in the Clubman section showing the install. I plan on painting the silver trim rings black as soon as the weather gets better here.
Does anyone know if the outmotoring brackets can be used in conjunction with the Alta intercooler? From looking at the pictures it looks like it is possible but a very tight fit.
They came with brackets that mount inside and come out through slots on the grille. I wish I could tell you where it all came from because it came together very well-but it was a gift and I don't know!
I'm guessing it was the VIP Custom Parts brackets and grille then. I just ordered a set from them so I can finally get mine installed!
Can someone post their wiring setup? Preferably connected to high-beams. I'd like to have somewhat of an idea of where the wires go before trying it for myself.
Hella 1000 "Black Magic" on modded Out Motoring brackets (Australian/Euro spec front structure is apparently different ). Fabulous spread of light, which is what I wanted - not a huge distance. Not the world's sturdiest lights, but OK if you're not going rallying. Black appearance means they're more subtle, which is in keeping with the look I wanted.
Larger pics in my gallery (because I can't remember how to post them full size ) https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...0&ppuser=46182

Reason: Cut the duplication to the next thread (when I read the post I was replying to!!)

Hella have a prewired kit with relay, fuses, cabling and an adaptor which connects to the back of the headlight plug - this is set up so that the lights only come on with high beam. There's also a switch in the kit, so you can turn off the driving lights when you only want the standard high beam - I did away with the switch, but it depends on local regs. In Australia, it's Hella part number 5223 and the info is here: http://db.hella.com.au/cgi-bin/catal...ew&flmaint=811
Having fought driving light wiring over the years (and mostly lost ) I think this kit is great!
Here is a couple of pictures of the 03 and 09. The 09 had the Hella 500 wtih the original grill. Didn't like all of the chrome so bought a JCW and some Black Magics. l agree l like the light spray. Had the 09 for 3 months now and have a little over 12,000 miles on it Got it with 7 miles!!
