Third Brake Light Lens replacement

I have a JCW '06 and I have noticed a stress crack running right down the middle (top to bottom) of the lens cover.
My local dealership will replace under warranty for free, that' s nice....
But, they also indicate that my S rear spoiler must be removed before the lens cover can come off/out. I am finding this very hard to believe. Also, I don't want to touch that lens cover or the screws as just one scratch on a screw and the dealership may claim that I broke the lens.

So, is it true that the S rear spoiler must be removed before the third brake light can be serviced/replaced?

DIY'd a third brakelight pulsar installation on our 06 MCS and did not touch the spoiler. Three torx screws hold the light in place and can be accessed on the inside upper part of the hatch. It is preposterous to remove the spoiler for that change.

When putting it back in, make sure you tighten the three screws evenly so that the light will not get off center.

Thanks, I don't understand what their ulterior motive could be for taking the spoiler off, that just seems stupid to me. Likely, I will not be able to convince them this step is not required, maybe I can get them to swap it out with me and let me install. I dunno.
The less the dealership touches my car the better.

I just checked the GoMINIgo site and the instructions actually indicate to remove the 2 outward torx fasteners to the spoiler and lift it a little to be able to slide the unfastened third brake light out between the spoiler and the deck lid. So, is this really not required on an '06 S ??

MCS Spoiler does not need to be removed to the 3rd Brake Light. Only remove the 3 torque screws. It can be changed in less than 5 minutes.

The MC is different you must loosen the spoiler to remove it.

Awesome, thanks for the verification. I actually do have your Pulsar and have been anxiously holding the install for after the dealer makes the replacement.
Otherwise, I touched it..........I broke it, or so they would claim.

This, I can believe much better than the stories I was being fed by the dealership.
