Interior/Exterior Red toggle switch loops
Red toggle switch loops
I seem to remember a picture of someone who put red snap type covers on the black toggle switch loops. I've searched until I worn out. Anyone know of a source?

When I break some, I'll be calling asap. Can you give me any tips on removing them without breaking them?
I'm also thinking of finding some proper color red plastic tubing and just slit the tubing the long way and pop the tubing over the loop.

Y have to take the toggle panel out first. So you would have to undo the down tubes first. Like this,
what the clips look like for the rings

From there it is pretty easy. You just need a small flat head screw driver to pop a few clips out. Not very scary at all. That will allow for the face plate to come off. Now you can pop the rings out. They clip into the back of the face. Here are some pics of what it looks like,

One of the rings pulled out on the left,

Lastly, here is what the rings look like

Let me know if you have any other questions or need more pictures.

xnotfunkylex, thank you so much for the info. I was thinking they could be pulled from the front. Thanks for the pics, I am very familiar as to removing everything on my dash panel.... guess I just need to bite the bullet and remove the toggle panel again and then they will be very easy to remove. Now to paint or cover with plastic tubing....I'll try some tubing first since it will be non destructive. If that doesn't look right, on to paint.
thanks again,

flat head screwdriver, and a lot of patience. i never leave ANYTHING in my car alone, and out of all 6 of the rings, only one of them has a small break.
I've removed 3 sets of loops with no damage, all by pulling straight out. Thread a shoelace or somesuch through the loop and give it a good yank. No need to dismember the center stack.
