Gauge install questions

I am installing Stewart Warner gauges and have a few questions.

Water Temp gauge (electric): I am installing the temp sensor in the bottom of the water tank like the Alta gauge application.

1) What sealant you recommend?

2) Should I insert an adaptor that came with the gauge into the tank then screw the sensor into the adaptor? Or should I just screw the sensor straight into the tank without the other adaptor?

Boost Gauge and Water Gauge:

1) Where do I tap into the dash lights for dimming purposes?

Thanks!

E-mail Alta for their install instructions. Then you can adapt them to your application.

Cool. I have the Alta gauges installed, and we got the 12v switched, illumination, and ground from under the center console where the lighter and dsc switch are. Alta has the detailed instructions. When you get them installed remember to post up some pics!

I used teflon tape around the threads of the water temp sender. I don't know if it is really necesary but I figured a little overkill was reasonable to prevent leaking (and I have not any any problems in the last 5 weeks).
