OK< finally got these from CC-B and had them body color painted. Just got them back today, cam homw, striped them, and got them installed. I am quite happy with them !!!!!!!!!! Thought you guys might like to see them on a real world car ....

I like the way they set off the performance look, and think they are MUCH better than the factory plastic grills ......... The final install was a bit tricky, but not too bad minus a few cuts on the hands to access them under the bonnet in the way back section by the scoops underneith. Get some !!!!!

I had a dealers shop paint them to get the right color code for my car, and they were fair I thought. $45.00 each. They did a nice job, and the color is pretty close. Just so you know, the dealer will take your cars VIN number to get the batch code for your color when the car was built. Kinda like a batch number for food, and stuff like that, thats why it is so close in color. Having had the car out in the sun, the color will change within 2 days on any car, so keep that in mind if it is not an exact, perfect match for color tone. The striping I did myself in about 10 minutes.

What is your source for the scoops? Or are they one-offs? THis is the first I've seen/heard of them. Very nice!

How about a not-so-close-up picture. I'm looking at these but I'd like to see the whole hood section showing both sides. Thanks in advance.

And yes, they look pretty nice from what I can tell.

The place I got them is CC-B Automotive, and here is their web page. As of right now, looks like they have only 6 pairs in stock, better hurry !

CC-B Web Page For Mini Parts

And NO, I am absolutely not affiliated with them. Just like my new scoops !!!!

I dig them!

I never noticed before, how your thinnest outer stripe races off into the sides... very nice design choice.

thumbs Up!

I gotta get me a set!

Thanks Doug, that thin stripe follows / wraps around the sides, and then ties back in with the other stripes on the boot lid. Came up with that when doing the stripes over a few beers and starring at it in the process. Nice little accent ......... but not too over the top

Not to be picky here, but.... I went to the website and saw their pic. If you've got something from dead on at about half that distance it'd be great!

Looks awesome! I was going to get some, but Diamond is comming out with their version in a couple of weeks. They consulted a wind expert about the design, and they will be fashioned out of carbon fiber.

I love the way they look though. Any chance of getting a full on shot of the car?

I like 'em! Two questions though...

1) Do you have them set up in such a way that they actually perform a function (i.e. channeling air...at least on the driver's side...to the airbox/intake)? If so, how difficult is this to plumb?

2) At speed, do they make any noise?

As far as noise, not sure just installed them so guess I will need to go for a ride now. BUT, I cant think they will be worse than the stock units for noise, AND if anything, they will project that nosie more forward and let everyone know your coming and TO GET OUT OF THE WAY !!!!!!

Will report more when I have more drive time with them, maybe later tonight...

AND, do they function ? Yes they should help force more air in there, BUT remember that this are on the body is a low pressure area as far as wind dynamics go, but I still think they should help some................

Do you know if these will be made using a pre-preg vacuum bag autoclaved process, or a wet-layup process? Wet layup will generally yellow in the sun over time because it is shot with a clearcoat after it is formed (though it is much cheaper to produce) - wheras pre-preg autoclaved pieces are more expensive to make - but do not yellow as quickly over time because of the much lower resin content than a clearcoated piece.

I think those pieces in CF would look kick a$$!

I guess I could, but I get a good deal with Diamond as is.

The scoops from Diamond are suppsoed to be totally different. I have no idea about what they are going to looks like, or how they are going to be produced.

Most of Diamond's new products will be released at the upcomming SEMA show, Stay tuned for more details...

I had also a friend of the family's aerospace engineer, help develop mine the tests ran so far are pretty amazing, allowing the supercharger to create 2 psi more boost. Due to the increase air pressure throught the intake track, the supercharger, is "being supercharged" meaning the supercharger is allowed to do more pressure and less vacum....

They will be in the 60-65 dollar range, out of abs, paintable, and will come in glossy black painted, or flat black to be painted, eventually i hope to offer in all mini's colors.......

Dan / BFP - Wes Armstrong here. The units I have installed here seem to be prepeg, not ABS and not hand laid. Very solid and a little heavy but very good overall on quality. They fit nice and were a bit tricky to install just because of access. After this, I do have some comments that would help further developements of this idea. From watching the hood raise and lower over these units, you could get a little more height from the scoop design if you so desired. I do like there are no fastners visable, and that keeps them from being stolen which is always a bonus ! Otherwise they are pretty good, and included all mounting hardware, and metal grill screen that you fasten inside. MUCH better than stock !!!
