I ordered the body kit from them and the seatback covers (unpainted),but I have to wait about 6 weeks for them to get the seat covers from italy, (the manufacturer is on vac.for a month)...they only have seat covers in carbon fiber....by the way,the body kit comes with the hood scoops

MINISPIDER - very true. Italy is where they are coming from, and since I have lived there for 4 years recently, EVERYTHING closes in August. EVERYTHING, so dont expect any action until about the first week of September earliest, and usually around the second week. Be pacient, it will get here you just have to wait out the vacanza season .......... !

Here is my Quick Ride Report - Just returned from one of "those" rides to checl out the new scoops. Time spent in town, and on the e-way. My opinion is there is less noticeable sound from the intake with the scoops installed, which would make sense since they are facing forward away from the side windows, when those are open. I tested with them open, and closed. As for added "push" in the intake, only formal testig will tell, but she sure does zip, and wish I was closer to wide open spaces .................... anyways, for me, they are A-O-K !

I think what Darxar meant was Jet Black - atleast that is what all the pictures of his car i've seen seem to be...though I believe there was a mag that did a flat black MINI - custom job.

Yes the mag featured a Satin Black Mini... they couldn't get the flat look in the amount of time they had.

>>AND, do they function ? Yes they should help force more air in there, BUT remember that this are on the body is a low pressure area as far as wind dynamics go, but I still think they should help some................

That is a low pressure region of the car. It is designed to VENT air and by sticking a scoop up into the airstream, you have effectively helped stall airflow in the engine bay. Congrats.

>>I had also a friend of the family's aerospace engineer, help develop mine the tests ran so far are pretty amazing, allowing the supercharger to create 2 psi more boost. Due to the increase air pressure throught the intake track, the supercharger, is "being supercharged" meaning the supercharger is allowed to do more pressure and less vacum....

Do you have proof of this? How are you measuring this?

Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a killjoy. If you are going for looks only, then that's great. BUT performance claims without proper testing sounds like HoNdA tUnInG to me...

No, actual testing was done, area believ it or not is positive pressure due to the steepness of the windshield, i had posted the test info a ahwile back in concerns to the cuttting od the back wall of the airbox, testing was doen with airbox as stock, was a vaccum, of i'm trying to find the results post, anyways, the area underneath these vents was a positive .95 inches of water, by cutting the airbox , the air box goes from a vaccum to a positive .8 inches of water, Now back to my scoop(my test scoop no so pretty so i dont have pics of the final product yet but in the next couple of days), this area went from .8 inches of water, to 1.95 inches of water, over doubled, remember this is in the box where the air filter is at, not under the vents, havent had the extra parts to do the testing at the throttlebody, but i figure if i get this at the filter, as long as my intake is not a restriction, the air flow is a positive pressure at the throttle body, so the the supercharger does not have to suck it through such a long straw if you know what i mean......

also as i stated before due to this positive flow feeding the supercharger i also was able to measure via boost guage a 2lb boost gain( all it is from is boosting the superchargers abilty to grab air, so therfore able to squeeze more)

Caddman,
Do keep us posted when the production parts are available. I'm very interested as this will certainly ram air into the Air Intake rather than letting the s/c suck the air in.
I do have one question, what happens on the passenger side with the increased air pressure and flow?
Best Regards, Itzamazn

OK, here's the thing...and I've just confirmed this by going out and poking around under the bonnet of my MCS...the existing foam-covered grills do not direct airflow into the airbox/intake. Rather, they provide fresh air to the HVAC system. Therefore, unless one modifies the existing intake to somehow pull air from the "intake scoops" (vs. the front of the car as is stock) you are doing NOTHING so far as improving intake performance!

It seems that Caddman has maybe modified his airbox (punching out the back?) to allow air to theoretically be pulled from the back (as well as front?)...but it doesn't seem that jigster did that. Thus, I can't see that this mod is anything but cosmetic. Well, maybe there's more fresh air coming into the cabin, but that's it.

Correct me if I'm wrong...and I'd sure like to be wrong as I think that the mod is pleasing to the eye; but I'm also interested in performance improvements.

Honda Tuning !! ?? Come on now RUF, that is a bit extreme, and on the drivers side it is not a vent, it is an INTAKE for the main filter intake for the engine, so how is THAT Honda Tuning ? On the passenger side it is a vent, but since the under bonnet temps are high already as stock, and more so with mods, I cannot help to think that added induction air flow in the compartment would help. Bit extreme to
ASSUME that you are stalling the compartments air flow. NOW IF Caddman's comments and testing are correct, I will stop by and put that Honda Tuner sticker on your car .......................... I will withold further comments until I see the info from the Caddman !

superchargedmini - they come in grey primer, so you need to get them painted how you like. When you get ready to install, let me know as I have a few pointers that might help it go easier for you ................ based on my install time spent

Speaking of underhood temps...aren't you concerned
about the driving lights you've mounted blocking air
flow to the radiator?
Re. punching holes in the airbox....no way as far as I
am concerned. I prefer the H2O with the coolant not
mixing with the fuel.

Jigster, I just don't think this is true. Look closely. There's a solid plastic wall between the underside of the vent and the main engine compartment.

AGREE...do you have full hood pics yet...3/4 angle?

The area in question is TRADITIONALLY a low-pressure region. If I am wrong about it in this case, then I apologize. I also appears that you are making assumptions about "added induction air flow in the compartment"...
Performance gains with out thorough testing and numbers to back it is nothing but ***-dyno and Honda Tuning. Looks like Caddman has something to say about that so we can just wait til he puts up some numbers.
Feel free to give me the Honda Tuning sticker, as I don't think there's any more room on your car.

If they are just aesthetic... why would caddman be working on producing them with testing and the sort?

I'm sure they do more than just look good.

But, until the results are out... I will just admire them as enhancements.

Can't knock their good looks

2minis - valid point with the lights, and why I am considering moving them below the bumper. Have always been concerned about that since I installed them, especially in the very hot south where I am at, BUT even now in mid day hot hot temps, there is no increase in the engine running temps by the factory gauge with the lights as installed, on the bumper.

Jsun - a few points. I have modded my back wall airbox, so it is allowing more air to the air intake. Further, that certical wall you see in a stock "S" does have a very small hole, with grommet, lower down which is the stock intake route before any mods. I too, have concern about water intrusion, and have been watching this in the real world where it rains. Anytime it does, I pop the hood after a drive to inspect it, and will contiue to do so now with these new scoops ...........

***-Dyno - Now thats good, BUT I never have pronounced given test data, or am assuming anything. Just thinking out loud. I am waiting for a reply from Caddman on private email to see what his test data shows, in the mean time I will enjoy what I have ................ including anything else I have done to the outside of my car RUF........ just sharing what has been done to my car, as is the spirit of this forum !
