I love it for many reasons already stated.
I too thought it was fraying my belt, but realized that I did not adjust the sliding lock correctly.
One minor complaint though. I found that it has damaged a couple of my pants. When I carry something bulky in my pocket, it rubs against the CG and eventually pokes a hole or frays the area. I'm not blaming the product, just letting others know. For this reason, I plan to only use it during special events and empty my pocket when I do use it.

I just saw this thread. I was wearing a Schroth 4-point and my passenger had a CG-Lock when I spun and rolled my MINI at MOTD this year. When we came to rest upside down, both of us were safely and tightly locked in our seats. Big props to the CG-Lock for protecting my friend and to Bruce Mather at CG for great customer service. They shipped replacement locks to me and two of my friends free of charge.

I'll look at the site, but I tried finding a phone number or website for the manufacturer/distributer, without any success. I thought they might be out of business.

Sorry to hear about the spin out, but glad the equipment worked like a gem! If you don't mind, how did you contact Mather? I could not find a phone number or e-mail to do so.

Has anyone tried using a thin cotton towel placed in-between the belt and the pants to absorb the abrasion?

Sorry...I should have been clearer. It is not the back of the CG that is causing the damage, but the side opposite the tension release lever. That little black pin is what I believe is digging into my pants causing the damage.
Your towel suggestion inspired a potential solution. I will try to place a little cap on it or apply a rubberized coating similar to that on the slide bar.
If that is not the culprit, the only other element on the side that can cause damage is the edge of the slide lever that is bent over the CG. Under the right conditions, there is just enough edge to fray cloth. That can be remedied with some gentle grinding/smoothing of said edges.
If these solutions work, the CG is back on permanently.

Mine is excellent for track days & autox. Remove it for everyday usage.

I've been using mine for a few weeks now...I love them, they really are quite nice. Confusing for first time passengers, but it only takes a couple times to get used to them and learn how to use them. They do what they say, and its much nicer then sliding all over the place in the seat.

Thanks! I actually already reached Bruce through a different e-mail address (cs@cg-lock.com) that I was supplied by Moss Mini.

Bruce got back within a half-hour (from yet another e-mail address: Bruce@CG-Lock.com) to say, "A set of screws will be in the mail to you tomorrow." Now, THAT is great customer service.

As a vendor for CG Lock, I have been very very happy with how Bruce deals with customers. It's a great product and I use mine everyday.

Actually, I should have thought to contact you to ask about how to get replacement screws, as I purchased my CG-Lock from you, but all's well that ends well, as the screws arrived and the CG-Lock is back on the belt!
