Ya, But...

TO GENERALIZE
Happy Customer: "I understand your pain, though they've done great by me thus far..."
Disgruntled: "Ya, but they're all a bunch of ****** anyhow..."
(Multiply the above statements by, oh, a cabillion.)
Happy Customer: "OK, so I get free parts in exchange for helping to sell a few or whatever..."
Disgruntled: "Ya, but that's just because you're a gullible shill..."
Happy Customer: "If I didn't like these guys or their product, I wouldn't have anything to do with them..."
Disgruntled: "Ya, but you get free parts and I don't, and that's bull****..."

Read that last line again. I won't make excuses for PU, though I will say that companies screw up - some more than others - and quite a few are just too proud or embarrassed to fess up. PU is apparently making an effort, because whatever you guys were (or are) experiencing was not shared by the few recent customers in this thread. If it's that big an issue, the topic should probably be moved elsewhere. The "Ya, but..." game is incredibly boring

GNATSTER
The flexure you mentioned has nothing to do with laminate or coring material. Flexure is exclusive to the epoxy or matrix in which the textile is molded. In fact, the addition of a laminate or foam core would INCREASE overall material stiffness. I'm not familiar with the specific applications you mentioned, but the above stands true, nevertheless. The fibers themselves bend at the same rate regardless, so the strength and stiffness of a PMC, or polymer matrix composite, can be directly attributed to the mechanical properties of the matrix and it's COMBINED BONDING STRENGTH across the textile. Just FYI

Looking forward...

You still seem to go back and forth.
If you really disliked them as much as you SEEM to convey, I think you would stop sporting their products completely.

For example, Nike uses poor work conditions and for that reason I NEVER...BUY or WEAR. Nike shoes.

I do not support Nike one bit.
Where as others talk about the work conditions and how bad Nike is, yet they collect AIRmax shoes! Hypocrite....NO!

Which side of the fence ARE you on....I'd imagine if you want them to truly fold as a company you would switch back to your M7 Extreme Scoop, and not want to show your support by using your PU scoop?

Why throw away something that's functional if you already have it? Should he burn his scoop in protest? Seems to me that he's been pretty clear about what side of the fence he's on for FUTURE purchases, and it's the side I'm on as well...

You're good at misinterpreting things and over-generalizing. Nothing like trying to make a point but first starting out by admitting that you've already generalized it.

I can tell you that the way you generalized doesn't fit my thoughts/opinions at all.

Well that said, I would burn my Nike's.
If I had any and stand by my convictions.
Just seems a little odd to me that someone would want a company to completely fold, Oh...but my scoop is really great!
And the wing might be nice as well.

If I didn't like something I would remove anything that would remind me of just that.

I'm not commenting one way or the other, but I do think it's funny that this would be provided in defending any vendor:

"Disgruntled: . . . .(multiply these statements by, oh, a cabillion.)"

Yadda, Yadda, Yadda...

RALLYMINI
...what the hell are you talking about?

EAGER2OWN
...again, what the hell are you talking about?

I mean, seriously? Are the either of you standing on something real here, or just yammering on? Shilling, bribery, and rules violations have been worn out for several pages now. It's old, and not at all the purpose of this thread. In fact, little of what's been mentioned here is relevant. And on that note, I'm moving on. Peace

Looking forward...to some intelligent conversation.

I think everyone that reads/participates in PU threads get to this point sooner or later. See you when you get inevitably sucked back in, usually when you see a new PU thread and think: "Bloody hell... NOW what?".

What a witty one

You seem to be standing on even less than we are. We have documented instances of poor customer service, poor quality parts, parts that broke or came apart (including the scoop), lies, price gouging, rebadging, and multiple complaints issued by a large number of distrubed customer. You, on the other hand, just got here, started calling people names, have very little to back you up.....and then started telling people to "move on" while refusing to move on yourself.

My original post simply stated that your generalization was wrong.

EDIT: We don't want or need sympathy, man... We're just trying to make it so that other MINI Motoring Enthusiasts aren't taken for a ride by the likes of a Paulo Uber. I see nothing wring with riding a merchant with a history of bad business practices in Forums - if nothing else, every post is a possible hit for anyone that's pondering a PU purchase and Googles the term "Paulo Uber + (Product) + Impressions" or similar. If *I* were that guy, I'd appreciate the community for that - God knows that NAM and its members have steered me clear of numerous pitfalls in the past...

In the end, of course, it's caveat emptor and every person's right to spend their cash as they see fit, but I'm all for making informed decisions.

Sure...

IMAGOX
...I really appreciate your candor, and I agree one hundred percent. I only wish we could deliver it with more tactful reserve, rather than making a complete mess of the thread. As you said, if they don't wanna listen, fine - you tried. It's the incessant reiteration that gets me. And that emoticon is a RIOT

Looking forward...

I wish this thread stopped at the 7th post, to be honest.
That's really what the thread is about.
Regardless of all the other info that keeps getting stated.
And can be accessed if you simply type Palo Uber into the Search tool.
All the back and forth and bantering only clogs up the thread.

People get emotional when our fellow Motoring buddies get taken to the cleaners, what can I say? I agree these things get beat to death - the ironic thing is that usually it's the people asking the members to STOP that add the most fuel to the fire. Somewhere along the line, PU seems to have decided that the best offense against these threads is to simply ignore them - it's really quite ironic that their SUPPORTERS would likely have more luck following this not-so-wonderful example.

Oh, well... c'est la vie (shrug).

Don't agree with that one bit, but your entitled to your opinion.
And to be honest I really lose respect for people who simply join the band wagon on issues since it only unfairly inflates the numbers of negative feedback.

Totally unfair ratio if you think about it,
10 products bought 7 unhappy/ 3 happy.
Then the 7 tell 5 friends and all of a sudden there are 42 against 3.
Sounds like a load of BS to me since the other 35 are standing on the claims of 7.

Welcome to life. It's just the way it works - that's why world class companies go to such great lengths to maintain their brand's image. What I have no respect for is a company that blames their crappy products and services on a mentally ill employee. But that might just be me.

No, don't agree, " It's just the way it works" sounds like settling for a messed up system. That has potential to change.

And the statement claiming: "a company blames their crappy products and services on a mentally ill employee."

Honestly, is between the vendor and the customer. It's to much he said she said and we all know how easy it is for words to get altered as it travels from person to person.

That has potential to change.
Palo Uber told us they would change, stop their lies, and shape up over a year ago.....so uh, how long do we wait for someone to change before asking again? It seems like a pretty simple job to go into your website, delete the part about PU making the wheels, add a part about the real manufacturer, and then change the prices to a reasonable level.

Just used the wheels as an example to explain what i mean. But they've been feeding us (and the moderators) the line about changing for a LONG time. At first it was just...."yah, we'll change"....then, "MINI madness is now working with us....they'll help us change"...and on and on. But to this day....not one single thing has been changed.
