harness install

Does anyone have any pics of a 6 point harness install. I know what it looks like finished, i just need some pics during, like with the seat out, so i can see where i need to drill for my eye hooks for the lap belts. Also, i talked with Peter at m7 about this, but i just wanna see if anyone else has anything to add. Im trying to figure out how to hook up my submarine (crotch) belts. I know that you can hook them to the mounts if you have a bottom mount seat, but i have a side mount. So do i just drill though the floor? If so, That means that will change the position of them everytime i adjust the seat, so they wont be directly under my shoulders, etc... Anyway, let me know anything. Thanks

Chace,
Sub belts should attach to the same point as your lap belt.
Inside eye you just need to drill a hole in the exhaust tunnel as close to the floor as you can get. You can then pry away the exhaust shield from under the car and get you hand up there to put on a LARGE washer and bolt with lock washer. Easier if you have help.
The outside eye should also go as low as possible. I think the best thing here would be to remove your rocker panel cover. You will then find two large oval openings covered by rubber grommets. Remove the rear one and that will give you access to the inside of that rocker panel. Then you can figure out just where to drill that hole. You will see why I say go as low as you can as the rocker is double walled near the top.
The floors of the Mini are VERY thin so I would NOT attach anything there.
As far as how far back to go, the lap belt should be more upright then angled back, so.... the attachment point should not be too far back from where your belt exits the seat on the side.

No, don't think I do Chace. Also just thought that you most likely won't be able to get your crotch harness over to the lapbelt pickup points with the side mount plates in the way. Hmmmm, have to think about that one.

From the info i gathered from your pm on mu, i think that if i mount the sub belts to the bottom of the sliders, it will raise the seat hieght too much. Even though its only an 1/8 - 1/4 of an inch, it makes a difference. I dont know. Ill keep fiddling

My sub belts are bolted through the floor. Welded 4x6" plates that have nuts welded to them on both sides. Used an eye bolt and licktite red. belts have snap on hardware. It's probably overkill but one can't be too safe.
