Anybody tried these? PIAA LED Wedge

Hi guys,

It bugs me that on our R56, the xenon are so bright and white and the rest are so yellowish, particularly the front marker (top 1/3 of fog). I tried to do a lot of search but don't think anyone have good recommendation.

I wonder if anyone have tried these:
http://www.delta-mini.net/cgi-bin/pa...pen&ids=EL0070

I thought they were only for R53 (picture on box) until I see these pictures above? Can anyone confirm that they fit? They are not cheap so I want to make sure:

Can buy from here?

On a side note, anyone tried these H8 LED for the fogs too?

I am aware that you can go get the non-LED ones but most are with blue tinted bulb and I don't like how it looks when it's not light up (Yes I know i'm picky )

Any comments welcome, thanks,

Hi HABUTGO, thanks, so now I have a pretty good idea they in fact look like 6500k (when you said they're more blueish). I wish PIAA makes them in 4500k or so such that it matches the stock xenon. I guess the only way to match the two is to change stock xenon bulb to like 6k as well?

thanks guys for all the help

A 6500K bulb will definitely look blue. PIAA does have a 4500K in the same TERA series: http://www.car-gym.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=22_50. However, PIAA is outrageously priced. They are not a semiconductor manufacturer and they use the same LED chips as any other vendor and put it in their own package.

I too am after replacement bulbs for the fogs (h8) and the parking lights.

But i was told the LEDs will bring up a fault code.

Is this true?

I replaced my fogs, driving lights with Hoen xenon-match bulbs and my side markers, parking lights and licvence plate lights with Hoen Chromium & Citylights. Everything is nice, bright and white... plus I did 'em all for what you're looking at for just the LED markers.

I also swapped the turn signals for Sylvania Silvervisions. If you want to see the results & how they compare to the xenons, check out this thread:

Do you have pics of the bulbs in the parking lights? i've been looking for something to make that ugly dimness go away

Also has anyone taken the r56 fog/parking light assembly out alltogether and seen if it throws a code? I'm thinking of doing a coldair setup/ brake ducts there instead. Seems more useful.

In the second link I posted... my original thread... there are a couple pics about 1/2 way down the page showing the parking lights compared to low and high beams (upper 1/3 of the fogs, right?).

Yes and no. If you get most other LED, they're not 12v and it'll bring up a warning. However, the PIAA I listed are specially designed and will work fine (supposedly).

Hi, I did follow your guide at first and it was very helpful. I am aware of the Hoen's, however I really don't want to get the bulbs as they're blue tinted and defeat the purpose of not having egg yulk, thanks

You are aware that the blue tint is not visible when illuminated, right? All super-white high intencity/heat bulbs have that tint to them. If you looked at the pics I posted you can see the blue bulb is only visible in the driving lights when turned off. Otherwise you just don't see it.

They look great, thanks for the link. I need to scoop those up if I don't take out the foglights alltogether.

Thanks very much!!
