English Oak Retro / after market ???

Mini has not arrived as yet - has anyone ever changed out their dash for English Oak?? Question would be how is the Black Piano attached and can they the attachments be reached then can just the two dash portions (English Oak) be bought and then how much... Wife is thinking she "might" like that... Like I said, mine hasn't even got here yet to look at and this is My labor is cheap - and I have ordered the Black Piano but its also not a bad idea to try and keep the wife happy.... lol

My SO loved the English Oak interior, so we had to go with it...I was about to order the Brushed Alloy. Anyhow, it's really grown on me, and I like it alot, especially since we got the Wood MFSW and shift ****. Really glad we got it. I think there are some threads on replacing dash trims if you search on here. Good luck!

I am also interested in doing an English Oak retro - so I'm a little mod-retarded and was wondering if someone could help - now that I see the part numbers on RealOEM.com, where can I get these parts? And considering that I am not especially handy, who can install them for me? I'm gonna assume NOT my Mini dealer, but if not them, who???

Thanks and my apologies for being so dense!

Parts-
Buy from MINI parts dept in your area using your local MINI club or BMW Car Club discount.
Or Buy from Classic Auto Campus- parts dept from Classic MINI in Ohio- they offer discount for MINI owners who are members of NAM. Check the vendor list on NAM.

Install-
Find someone that is good at taking things apart like someone who has audio upgrade background and tools- check your MINI club or BMW club.
Go to an audio upgrade store and ask if they would do it, body shops and upholstery upgrade shops can do it. You're just paying labor.

Find out which shop in your area has experience with doing audio upgrades for the new R56 MINI and go with them- it helps to have some knowledge of the MINI.

Be sure you buy all the necessary parts- on the dash and the two door trim pieces. If you want the wood steering wheel that is extra as well.

I found this under accessories-

For wood steering wheel (pick the right one)

Called EB Mini today... retail for dash parts are
$162 each X 2
$97 for door handles X 2

$518 plus YOU install... or pay Mini $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to install

and its Plastic/Wood.... the handles are way up there, sooooooooooooo - I will give it some thought AFTER I live with the Black Piano and if the Wife reallys wants it... well, then I get it... Just thinking here - some has said the Black Piano scratches easy??? has anyone ever taken theirs out and had a buddy at a Auto paint shop put several coats of Clear over the Black this would make the surface harder????????? anyway, just a thought..

shipping would be very cheap for these plastic parts... buying out of state would save sales tax but then add shipping... I am very new to Mini - what % discounts are you seeing???

had the wrong part number for the little Oak door handle... I corrected the above link.. That part really pushes it up there.... If I do this, I may just leave that part off - pulling that door panal is not a "wanted" job anyway..
I did call the Ohio and got these prices,,, did not ask what shipping would be.

dash parts are $130 X2 = $260
door handles are $97 X 2 = $194...

anyone every change out a door handle???

Do MINI dealerships give a discount on parts with a BMWCCA membership. I have been spoiled as my local BMW dealer gives me a 25% discount on parts.
