True, but the ones I've seen don't really look like the MINI's fenders. Do you know of one that does. Because if there is one then couldn't we just plastic weld the fenders together and then paint it to look OEM? Like we used to be able to do with the aero kits before they stopped importing that paint.

Check my build thread over on M|U....me and a few others just had a discussion about this because I'm modifying the lip pieces on the bumper and I plan to use a texture paint to match them. I think it's entirely possible to use texture paint to match and a bunch of automotive paint companies offer it.

Edit: Someone just posted comparison pics in my thread too.

Does anyone have any other pics of the fender flare kit posted above? I think I like what I see but better shots would be nice. Any idea as to how much wider it is? 10" wide wheels anyone?

I doubt it. It never really made it and I never saw anyone that bought it. It's basically the same as the MHW flares but it fits the MCS. It was originally being sold as the Breyton wide body kit when it was first for sale....but like I said, they canceled it because it was so uneven. (This was way back in the days of MCO)

Once again Rally, I stand corrected. I think I'll just take your word from now on.

You were right about the OEM version being sold out. I was planning on just getting that stuff until I found out that it's no longer available. You should be able to find textured bumper paint at any thorough automotive paint supply store.

Well guys, I know you all know how adamant I was on building out my own wide fenders...but I just got the set of flares from Turner Motorsport...

So, as soon as I get them and paint them, I will post up pictures for all to see...sadly, I will not have my R90s built yet, they will be done this summer I hope...

But, they will eventually be filled with 10" R90's

I like your style. When I saw those fender flares I immediately thought 17x8.5 and 17x10 or 18x8.5 and 18x10

Good thoughts, but I'm not going to be staggered! 17x10s all around

Can't wait to see the end result. Maybe we could get a test fit photo before they go to paint?

I'm excited to see the results!

Seriously thinking about doing this to my R53, but have a feeling I'd need spacers and different wheels... S-Lites just wouldn't cut it with that mod!

Agreed?

Definitely agreed You'll need some wider wheels to pull off wider arches

If I am paying for some custom "barrels" I have to go all or nothing

Chris, at the end of page 4 of this forum, the black convertible is running 255's with similar arches, so why not go bigger than 235?

The turner arches look good but do you know if they have an option that works with the aero kit?

this thread is killing me. My lust for wide, oem style arches...or anything widening the stance for that matter...HAD begun to suppress itself. Now I already see money disappearing...o boy

Stretched tires > wide balloon tires

No arches will work with the Aero without a lot of custom work. The arches are molded into the aero bumpers unlike the bolt on type on the OEM bumpers. This means you'll have to custom mold the arches to the aero bumpers.

The convertible on page 4 has aero kit and yes the arches needed a lot of custom work because the arches were not made for aero, but I wish someone could commercialize aero compatible ,because obviously it can be done.
