Clear bra install photos

Hope this is the right place to post...

Just thought I'd share photos of my clear bra install sent to me from the installer, Vincent, over at Omega Tintwerks (925.227.1322 in Pleasanton, CA if you're in the area). I thought he did a fantastic job. It was custom done, but I can hardly tell.

I did the whole hood (instead of half) because I decided I can't stand the line that shows up where it would have ended. And I guess I had money to burn. Ha.

There are some closeups of where the seaming ends. I can't tell on my car unless I actually feel for it.

wow, that must have cost a lot of money.

it looks very well done though. especially sicne it apperas the material was tucked behind edges.

Looks great! What was the damage ($$$) on the full hood install?

Looks good!
I've heard nothing but positive comments about Vincent, I'd be interested in knowing the final bill as well, I believe I'll probably see him right after I get my mini (he's just down the street from EB Mini).

Top notch install. Looks much nicer than the pre-cut films.

hi guys, thanks for posting the pixs girlcavity. im the owner and installer of Omega Tintwerks. i ve been getting a lot of inquiries concerning this thread. i thought i check in. i 've done many standard Minis pre-cut kits. this is the first full wrap hood i ve done for the mini. the PPF brand is call VentureShield. it is virtually invisible. it does nt have the 'orange peel effect' like the 3M brand(5 yrs Warranty). VentureShield in the clearest in the industry and comes w/ a lifetime warranty. if you like more info or club forum deals give us a call.

LOL Vincent are you on every motoring forum? I picked up your name from several different forums including the Corvette one, a subaru forum, and several others.

I do have a question, maybe you or someone can answer. If you put an clear bra alternative on a vehicle how do you keep it clean? Is it just like a clear coat? I've seen some nasty spots on cars where some evil bird has taken a carp on the car. Can I treat the VentureShield like paint? Does it work ok with powered orbital polishers like porter cable? Was wondering if it might melt the material.

Thanks!

Hey all,

kreative sent me a pm with some questions so I'll answer them here...

- What type of film did he use? (3M, Ventureshield, other?)
Ventureshield

- Any warranty on the clear bra job?
I believe Ventureshield offers lifetime warranty.

- How long did the install take?
I'm guessing 4-5 hours.

- Does he also tint windows?
Yes I plan to tint mine from him in a few months.

Also, the difference between whole hood and half hood was quoted to me as $250.

Yes, thanks for the reply, $250 .. that's not bad. Did he mention care for the Ventureshield? Does it act like a clear coat? Can it be buffed using an electric polisher? :-) I'd be interested in doing the full hood too if I can keep it looking good.

Thanks!

He told me to treat it normally -- it can be washed, waxed, etc. I don't know to what extent though. I bet some forum/web search will give you better info.

Bird poo is really bad for it if left to sit on the clear bra and possibly with sun. I was under the impression that there was only stain danger within the first week or so of install, but I'm not sure...

Do not treat the clear bra like paint or use a orbital polisher. The high speed buffer will burn it. I recommend you wash/dry it and spray on a clear quick detail wax w/ a microfiber. Once a month that will keep the road bugs and bird crap from staining the bra.
