Question about Alta 2" and 4" antenna

Does it make a difference in reception? Considering the 2", but I do a lot of AM radio listening, and was wondering if the height of the antenna does affect reception.

Thank You

I have the 2" and have not noticed any drop in reception....but I guess it qll depends on where you live.

I really prefer the look of the short stubby abtenna...

I haven't had a problem w/ reception and I have the 2".

On my Evo, the 4" antenna totally killed reception, but it has not been the case w/ the Mini.

There should be no real difference in any of them. As long as the antenna base is powered (which unless you switch head units it will be) none of them should be affected. I haven't noticed any real change in all my years of running them (expect when I switched head units in my R53 and forgot to power the base.)

Good luck!

I'm planning on getting a cell phone cradle for the armrest that lets your cell phone use the external antenna. Do the ALTA antennas provide reception and transmission capabilities for cell phones like the original antenna does?

No change with the Alta 4", when I dropped out of anything but country music running across Nebraska I switched to the nano.

Alta makes a good range of antenna sizes, quality is great. Others have the shorty units, too.
