Hey Doug,

Can you quote me on a e-brake handle like the one above but with the top flattened out and "OH SH*T!", with an I instead of an *, engraved in it? Seriously! Polished finish and um... I'm still looking for ideas for my ****. My Mini's name is Tug but I want something unique like everyone else. Does that even make sense?

I haven't found a polishing shop yet.
The place that polishes my shift ***** hates tool marks, and I know they won't want to do the e-brake handles for me.

What do you mean by tool marks? From the engraving or by putting a flat top on it? I can do without the flat top if it adds a big hassle on your end. If you mean the engraving, well... I really want it to say, "OH SH*T!" on it...

Edited to add...

I want it to say that so that it's readable from the driver's seat.

I mean the normal tool marks, from the turning operation.
They're not deep, of course; but my polishing guy won't want to see them. I'll try schmoozing him, but I'm not hopeful.

Milling a flat on top is no problem; and the engraving would be a piece of cake.

Outstanding Doug! Tell your polisher guy that a big redneck in VA wants it nice and smooth so it doesn't hurt his hands!

Seriously, I want one. I also want an R56 polished SS **** too but I'm not sure what graphic that I want on it yet. Can you tell that shiny things fascinate me?

How do these install Doug. I have the JCW CF one and I have never been able to get it to stay tight, short of epoxying like it says to do in the instructions. It is loose now because I don't want it to be so permanent.

This set screw secures the handle and is covered by the boot during installation.
The cable tie that secures the boot to the handle fits inside the groove to the left of the set screw.

Works for me, can you make a brushed aluminum that matches the pistol grip shifter like MSFITOY's?

Pistol grip shifter? This is what I've been wanting. Can you post a pic of this, or a link.

ON EDIT: Found a pic of it. That's not what I've been wanting. My search continues.

A trick that I have read about on here to keep the JCW E-brake handles on is to wrap tape under the handle until it is a force fit. Use no glue with this method and it will pull off with some force if you ever have the need to remove it.

Doug,

Can you make the ebrake handle in the 'bead blasted' finish? My shift **** started life as a bead blasted and I spent a few hours hand-polishing my **** (Heh...) with metal polish to get it to a fingerprintless finish that I love... enough texture not to show a bit of grease/prints but shiny enough to match the chrome trim in the car.

Is the end button (the bit that you actually press with your thumb) replaced or is it stock?

Yep, I think I can blast the handles.

The button is not replaced. I don't even know how it's removed.

Just got back from the polisher, and he says it shouldn't be a problem.
I'll whip up a couple more handles and let him buff them up; we'll see how they turn out.

Doug,

How do we place orders for these e-brake handles? I see nothing on your website for them. This would make a great addition to anyone who already has a Whalen shift **** (like me!).

Thanks!

I'm in touch with my website guy about it; hopefully, we'll have the site updated in the next few days.

There will be a price break on the handles for existing shift **** customers, as well as for people who are ordering the set.

For now, please PM or e-mail me for particulars.
I'm finishing up a few handles today, and I'll be able to fill orders real soon.

Got a batch of brushed stainless steel handles ready to go now.
I can bead-blast them if desired, of course.

I'll be taking a few of them to the polisher next week; watch for results.
Also sending a few to the anodizer next week; I'll have some done in clear, and some in black.

I also whipped up a few from black Delrin.

Working on getting my website updated.......................
