That will work. Pretty much any cutting instrument. I used a air powered cut off wheel but it was way overkill. But what can I say....I love power tools. A razor knife or dremel would work great.

Great! Thanks! Would a box cutter work you think? What about a saw - like the kind used to hack a Xmas tree down?

I used a plain ol utility knife from Home Depot. Slow and easy. Worked perfectly.

razor knife = box cutter.

It is a very small piece that needs to be trimmed. I dont suggest using a chain saw.

I think that Kappasphere is no longer serving the Mini market. They may have some left over.

Well, I see nothing has changed for TWO freaking years? What is with Schroth not having a new seatbelt?!?!

I used mine in Swifty all the time. I now feel like I'm floating around, and my back is cracking. Miss the secure feeling.

Is there a better source than Apex Performance?

I just called Schroth directly. Was told the manufacturing of the hardware was getting moved from Germany to the USA. So I (we) need to check into their site for the announcement first of the year.

Got e-mail from Apex:
Schroth may "possibly" introduce them at the PRI show in December in Orlando - so it sounds like they are on the schedule for production. ...

HMS has them but is waiting on certification and regulation bs. I am down the street and they are going to contact me when they are finished so they can use my car for test fitting and install instruction write up with pics.

I contacted them recently and they said that they have been pushed back again though due to some more regulation and certification stuff.

I'll let you know when I do because by then they will be ready.

Last year I bought 4 point harness from Phil Wicks. Phil is hooked up with a manufacture. You wear it over the standard 3 point system. No warnings that way. I use it for HPDE and it works great. You are not going anywhere thats for sure. I think they have a 5 point too. Uses the rear seat clips and Bolts under the rear seat mounts. They use a spreader strape intead of going through the head rest. Goes around it. Just google Phil Wicks Racing to track him down.

Do you have pictures of this contraption? Just curious to see if it's similar to the Schroth QF design.

Sorry about digging up an old thread, anyone tried the Schroth with a R55/Clubman?

well its taken a while but I wanted to let you guys know that I met with HMS earlier last week and they ran some of the FINAL measurements they needed to be 100% certified.
They are currently just waiting to hear back from Germany before they get the go ahead for sale, I held the belts in my hands they are ready and all they need are a certificate to be applied to them to make them legal.

Very close to being ready for sale, I may even call today to ask how they are doing.
