I picked up a set of Schroth Rallye 4 harness the other day. Can some one tell me where to attach the rear part. I'm thinking that the outside point attaches to the stock seatbelt point, but I can't figure out the inside rear attachment point.
Sorry kinda resurrecting this, but thats better than another new topic, which I find myself doing alot.
For the R56 it has been said here and elsewhere that simple modification of the harness will allot it to fit in the R56. Is it as good as the stock belts in a daily driver? I'm look at them for more aesthetics than racing and I want to know that they'll hold up if god forbid I do get into an accident. I assume they are better, but that's an assumption.
These should not be considered a replacement for the OEM belts for a daily driver. They are designed to be used as a drivers aid while doing a track day or autoX, places where you normally don't need to look around for traffic, pedestrians, animals, cops, good looking girls........well you get the point.
I like the CG lock alot. as long as you tighten the key well i have had no problem with slipping. get in pull tight, give it some slack when you take it off and repeat. It is really nice being able shift smoothly even in a turn where the G force would otherwise make it a bit of a chore. O and it is surprisingly comfortable for daily driving. No track days with it yet.
Perhaps you haven't taken any track instruction. One should never shift nor brake while in a turn nor should one lift totally off the gas pedal in a turn. These actions have the potential to put the car in a spin or worse. Shift and brake only on straights. Feather the gas pedal in turns. Accelerate out of a turn.
This is usually correct, but you will find yourself at some point in time at a track that has a turn or two that you will need to shift while in the turn. They are called increasing and decreasing radius turns.
I talked today to Jeff at Schroth and still waiting on the seats to be certified. once they are will be min 8 weeks til we see belts, though the design is finished and ready for production.
I use the r53 belt in my r56 and it works great. All you have to do it trim a small piece of plastic on the schroth belt. It has nothing to do with the function of the belt.

Any chance of seeing a picture of where to trim that plastic piece. I have considered buying an R53 belt but have hesitated waiting for the R56 iteration.

But it may have something to do with the construction of the seats themselves. The seats have to be able to withstand some additional loading from the belts. This I believe is the reason for the holdup on getting certified.
I, too, need to see a pic of the plastic trim to make it fit the R56. A gal had pics posted before, but must have removed them from her photobucket account.
