Scoop fitment assistance needed

Hey all

Just so you dont flame me - I did search the forums, and wasn't able to find any information pertaining to PU CF scoop fitment issues.

Just got a PU CF scoop, and the damn thing would not go on. It slides into the hood nicely, but when I tried to bolt the rear bolts into the scoop, they werent even close to catching. I spent about 2 hours wiggling the scoop around trying to get these bolts to catch the threads, but they are about 4mm off and no matter what i do, I cant get them to slide in.

Suggestions?

Should I trim the plastic diverter attached to the hood? Should I trim the scoop?

-Rich

from the uber site:

"Absolute perfection in both fit and finish, with unbelievable performance enhancement. Without question, the most performance for the least investment. Fifteen minute instalation."

so fit wasnt absolute? not a 15 min install? makes me wonder about the boost gains they claim.

Directions do note:

Mine came with directions that noted "we suggest you discard the plastic hood cover" or "If you do keep it in place, you must cut off the oval section that mounted to the rear of your stock trim ring"

If you did not get the directions to install or the copy of the air flow dynamics test ...let me know and I will fax to you ..

Hope this helps ...mine fit fine after the above and have enjoyed it so far...

Uh oh....sounds like the other stories I've heard of PU scoop fitments. Best of luck...hopefully cutting the diverter apart helps it fit better.

Is there anything that looks as if it's getting in the way and causing a problem with the screws reaching the holes or stopping you from sliding it the extra 4mm?

Macsbluemcs - I'd love a copy of the airflow dynamics test. Does removing the diverter hurt at all? I do have an Alta Diverter going on today also, so I figure that will help.

Thanks El

Worked like a charm. I wish instructions came with this thing out of the box.
