I have it on both my MINIs and swear by it, unless you enjoy touching up paint chips. It was expensive, but it was the best thing I could do to keep my cars looking like new, besides keeping them washed and detailed. I'd even venture to say that whenever it comes time to sell them, their value will be better than those cars without the ClearBra.
I didn't have one on my R50 and over time picked up some stone chips, which on Indi Blue didn't look too good. After a wreck I wound up w/ a new, freshly painted bonnet and this time put a clear bra on. It was great! So, when I got my R56 I got one, too. I think they're very worthwhile...lots of MINI owners get them.

I just found a guy recommended by the local BMW dealership. He quoted me $399 for hood/fenders/mirrors and $569 for all that plus the front bumpers. He admitted only having done one other MINI before, but promised he'd do a flawless job after I told him I had MINI owner friends who needed this done also.
I have an R56 and i have the whole hood, front bumper, mirror caps, roof before sunroof, by the back hatch, headlights and fog lights. I installed it a week after I bought her and it was the best thing I ever did, every time when I get home I wipe the hood with a wet towel to get off the bugs etc... and I dont have to worry about scratching her. "I SAY GO 4 IT" (but it did cost me $800)
I too have been thinking about it...Have an appointment booked, I am a country bumpkin, and commute highway daily to work....
I don't know why I worry if it is a good decision or not, it is right!
Any brands people would specifically stay away from? Or specifically recommend?
This company I am going to uses Clear Bra...Lifteime warranty if bubbles, yellows or peels
I would say put it on for the winter months (if you live in a cold climate where grit is used), and take it off for the summer. Don't worry about bugs- there's claybar for that!
Oy, that would get mighty expensive at $400-900 a pop, depending on where you live. And it's not about bugs - it's about rocks! There are definitely rocks in the summer.
