Interior/Exterior Dr Evil's Transformation Continues
Dr Evil's Transformation Continues
Okay... you may or may not have seen my first mods to the recently purchased JB MCSCa, known by all whom love him as "DR EVIL".
In case you missed it, they were UJ headrest decals, Warning Label Covers, and Wheel Center Caps.
So, this weekend, I completed some more mods. See if you can tell what's different in the BEFORE:

And the AFTER:

Once again... BEFORE:

And... AFTER:

Okay, you guessed it, Dr Evil is cleaner and more shiny !!
Oh, alright, alright... he's also NAKED as a JAYBIRD !!!
Taking the stripes off was easier than I ever could have imagined. It's almost like the stripes were put on over layers of wax because there was NO residue left on the paint. It all come off with the stripes.
Here was my process:
Using a blow drier, I heated up just the edge so I could start to pull them up.
Then, wearing a latex glove on my left hand and with blow drier in right hand, I heated up about four or five inches of the stripe at a time. As I pulled the stripe away, I folded it under to keep the sticky stuff to a minimum and give myself more leverage to pull the next segment.
They came off so easily, all four stripes came off in 25 minutes. Here's all that was left. No pieces, segments, etc...

As for the shine ? That's a PC buffer, One time around with Prima Swirl with Orange Pad. One time around with Prima Amigo on the White Pad, and two coats of Prima Epic, applies AND removed with the buffer. Oh yeah, one spritz of Prima Slick just before the pics were taken. Here's a few more fore your viewing pleasure. You have to love Jet Black when it's clean !!

So what are the plans for Dr. Evil? Nekkid does not do him justice at all.

Then again, the ladies seem to like him that way. Black is pretty all plain and clean, but a MINI needs like Dr. Evil needs some blig, trinkets, flash... I could go on, but you know what I mean.
Of course, scooter is very plain, just working on subtle bling.

Perhaps the fact that the "Cooper S" badge is still missing off the boot will give a slight hint to future plans.
i know the difference!! the difference is that the top is up and in the after ones the top is DOWN!!
that was an easy one.

hehehehe
sometimes i wish i got a black mini..looks 10 times shinier and glossy looking than mine.

Hi praise coming from a poster on my personal top-10 list.
Yeah, top down, that's the ONLY difference !
You're right, our PW MC is easy to keep looking clean but it does not reflect a shine very well, at all. So when you spend HOURS detailing it, you don't get that sense of satisfaction you get from the Jet Black or even the Chili Red.
Please post your gender when making a pitch for stripes vs. no stripes. It's been interesting so far the the ladies seem to like Dr Evil nekkid while the guys seem to think he needs some new stripage. :impatient
What will be the NEXT transformation ??!!??

Such a beautiful MINI, and what a great shine - glossy and wet like a kiss from your high school sweetheart!
I so like JB and your MINI is why! Nothing, I mean NOTHING, looks better than a clean JB MINI.
Oh and stripes; while I'm a guy and believe all MINIs deserve, no, demand stripes - my first thought was why hide any of that gorgeous black paint. But then again, it is a MINI and a MINI without stripes is like a hammer without a nail (unfulfilled
), a white Vette (under-stated
), a shaved sheep dog (unnatural
) or a trip to DP without a purchase (unrealistic
).
Your car, your choice - I'll support your decision either way (a real load off your chest no doubt)

Ahhhh, Maybee... we can always count on you to put together a string of words that both entertain and expose the nekkid truth ! Thanks for those words of deep wisdom.
Stay tuned... it'll make sense to you.
Ummmmmmm.... sure, Jeremy. You're on the list. <<cough, cough>>
By the way, I wouldn't kid around with you if I didn't like you.
Another vote from a woman for Nekkid. Interesting.
