Decision: Brushed Alloy or English Oak?

I'm speccing a CR/W MCS w/ leatherette, and was wondering whether the english oak or brushed alloy would look better. I've gone to 2 dealers in my area and none of their inventory have these trims (all are piano black, stock checker, or fluid silver) I'm leaning towards the contemporary look of the brushed alloy, but the wife likes the oak, and it's started to grow on me a little...classy look. So I know it's a subjective thing, but any input would be appreciated. TIA.

the brushed doesn't look like brushed to me, it looks like wacky circly metal. I really dislike it. YMMV. I wanted the option originally but then i saw it in person. Wow, i would have been frustrated if I ordered it.

have fun!

English Oak. Everyone seems to be happy with it.

I didn't like the plastic surface on the "brushed aluminum". Looked like aluminum foil in plastic.

English Oak comes standard with the piano black. My MC also has the cream white color line. You can see it in my gallery. I think this is a very classy retro look, which had to grow on me. Now, I couldn't imagine Tawanda with anything else.

I'll put in a good word for brushed alloy. I think it's real metal and it doesn't seem like plastic to me. It's a high quality material and looks great with my rooster red colorline. I strongly prefer the more contemporary feel.

Another vote for Oak. It's just so classic English sports car-ish

The brushed alloy is real on the 2007's same as the oak, oak from a tree.

Chili Red with oak? Nah go with real metal and piano black.

Oak is nice in other colors.

I don't no about the brushed surface because when I say the english oak I knew that was what I wanted. It looks really good and has some piano black trim as well and that was my second choice. For me, it was the best choice. I was also going to get the cream color line but was talked out of it as many people thought it was to busy. I saw the cream in person and was pretty over the top but it had a rich look too. The english oak against the darker colors, grey and black is more subtle and actually looks richer or even better quality IMO. Its a really tough decision. Good luck.

I went for brushed alloy. All my other cars got wood trim interior, so I wanted something different.

That's what I was wondering also...if the oak would look nice w/ Chili Red Exterior, and leatherette seats. /sigh, choices choices...but that's what makes speccing a Mini so fun!

Thanks everyone for their responses, looking forward to hearing more! ;-)

Also, those w/ Wood trim, did you guys get the wood steering wheel also, and is it slippery? I saw one, but didn't get a chance to get a feel for it. It looks nice.

Brushed alloy for mine. It doesn't show finger prints (specifically for the secret compartment) and it just give a nice sporty look. I have the lounge leather in black with anthrecite headliner and the trim looks great.

I'd go English Oak for a more traditional feel.
