Sorry to hear that.....350 for a part that breaks when installing is a lot of money....especially since that stock part only costs 30 dollars from the dealer.

Ouch...

For $350, I'd be carrying it around with me to MINI events on the chance that someone from PU shows up... then I'd beat them with it. Every lighting MOD I did combined on my orange car didn't cost that much...

I received the statements and both were finally correct; at least they finally let it go, although I am still haggling with them over the wrench I didn't need once I got their rusty lugs off. I've not been around much lately or I'd have checked in sooner with this information; a 10-night marathon in NYC will do that to you (I wonder how many will get this one)!

I emailed/pmed them quite a bit. But, they have not answered. This was a LONG time ago, and I have since given up on them actually replying.

Oh, forgot, I also tried to do the "post a review" thing, but it doesn't look like it worked...
Reviews must be reviewed by administration. Some of mine took at least a day and sometimes more to finally appear for general viewing. You can certainly add your experience to the VENDOR review I started on PU. So far there is only one defender over there.

Sounds like another issue of improper research and design on PU's part if the screws aren't even the right size It really seems like they sell products without even test fitting them on their own car first
Would it be any surprise if they didn't even have a test vehicle or vehicles?

Just saw 1nf3rn0's vendor review -- I don't think I'd seen this one before:

When they finally conceded that they were in error, they tried to blame the error on mentally disabled workers in the shop...
niiiiiice.

The only ones to blame at PU are the folks running the joint. To my mind they just don't care about much other than making money in the short run. If the long run mattered they would make better products to start with, reduce their margins on their re-badged products, and stop blaming the customer anytime something goes wrong. I defended their right to fix a problem and to avoid the label many wanted to tattoo them with, but in the end they simply disappointed and pulled out exactly the kind of lame excuses that many had accused them of using.

^ I think next they'll combine this with customer error/misuse and just blame product problems on their mentally disabled customers

I see that there is no end to the manipulation, misdirection, and outright misrepresentation of this outfit.

So this should get interesting....Sportmax is discontinuing the sportmax003, the wheel that Palo Uber has stolen and called their own. Someone from edgeracing, a supplier of sportmax wheels, explained that sportmax is in fact the original producer of that style wheel.....so i wonder if the wheels will soon be sold out at PU. I'm sure they have some sets in stock so it might be a while before they run out...but we shall see what excuses are made now that the company that really makes the wheel is stopping

Well, depending on how many of the wheels PU has in stock, and how often they sell a set, they may be able to stretch their availability out long enough so that when they do stop selling them, they can deny any relationship between that and the fact that Sportmax is no longer making the 003.

But really guys - we're not thinking big enough - this *is* Palo Uber we're talking about, after all. A more-appropriate response would be for PU to claim that Sportmax was *forced* to discontinue the 003 because they were infringing on PU's design, and then PU can discontinue *their* wheel, claiming that the "prestige and exclusivity" of their wheels were sullied by the proliferation of Sportmax's "cheap imitations".

This is true....though i wonder how much storage space they have considering every adress they give leads to a PO Box or an apartment complex

Actually they attempted to already use this excuse as sportmax announced the discontinuation a while ago. Though there is no sign of any records on the court case(you're able to search for copyright infringement cases online)....and when asked to present the information, PU was unable to do so.

Has there ever been a pool started on how long these folks will be able to stay in business? Regardless of the few decent items they have, so many are truly abominable and their treatment of the folks who dare to complain about the poor parts they make is reason enough to see this vendor go out into the sunset.

MidniteCoop has a recent thread hawking the PU CF wing extension. I sent people here with a post to his thread to read an unbiased account of how PU can treat their customers. Maybe their wing is good, but I hope people look before they leap.

My deal is PU is a company without any scruples and while they may manage to make a decent product here and there (you and I have been lucky to get at least 1 - the CF scoop - and maybe you got 2 now with the CF wing extension, but I see your antennae looks more purple than black these days) most of the time they would scrw their own mother to make a nickel. It has nothing to do with negativity as it has to do with looking out for the unsuspecting. I was warned, but had to find out the hard way, so if I can save anyone else the aggravation it will be a pleasure. Glad your CF wing extension seems to be working out for you, but knowing how PU works and that they have fed you discounts and freebies, you really come off like you've been taken over to the dark side (and cheaply at that)!

I'm up to five products that I am Completely satisfied with.

C.F. Hood Scoop
C.F. Extension Wing
15% Reduction Pulley
Black Anodized Tuner Lugs
Black Anodized Antenna

My antenna is still black, The featured pics had rich color it may have looked a purplish tint similar to the black car.
Also, I have Wilwood black Anodized Big Brakes.
Over time and due to weather those like a antenna over time will turn a purple tint, the same way red calipers will fade into a pinkish tint.
I'm not going to run to them due to a color shift.

All I have to say is that I'm happy with the products and I'm trying to show that there wing is as nice as the scoop.

I bought an antenna from Mini mania over 5 years ago. My MINI is never garaged....sits outside through a brutal ohio winter....sits outside in the hot sun of the east coast beaches for all summer. 5 years later and it's still the black that it was when i bought it. Yah I'm sure parts like that age....but only after a few months? Faulty product for sure. Yours might be black....but that doesn't mean that others haven't had the problem. They have and it has been documented with pictures and everything. Awesome that you didn't have problems...but respect those who did have problems and had to deal with the rude customer service.

But who cares about that stuff.....props on liking the spoiler. It looks good in the pics I'm not gonna bash you for it as there seems to be no problems with it. But just understand that some people have a hard time seeing you constantly promoting a company that has treated so many people poorly when they know you are getting special treatments and deals from PU. The discussion should probably have stayed out of that thread....but try to understand where the other people are coming from.
