"gunmetal" wheels on a DS Mini?

Sorry if this has been covered before, search is down right now.

I have a DS/W '03 MCS and was considering a set of "Gunmetal" colored wheels for it:
http://www.edgeracing.com/2003/Mini/...all)/wheel/99/

Has anyone else tried this combination? Is it an exact match to the body color? close match? or are they just enough different that people will think I tried to match and failed?

Take a look

Check on my posts for the Rota RB's or go to the current vendor announcements and look at the Bug-Guards are here post. The wheels are Royal Gunmtal RB's.

I have something similar on my DS MINI. I think they called the color anthracite. It's a darker shade of silver than the car, but it looks good.

thanks guys. Looks like it ranges from "almost a perfect match" to "a little darker but looking good" depending on brand.

Sorry for the dead link, the wheels I'm looking at are the Flik "Artic" in Gunmetal, 17" w/ Hankook Ventus Rs2 Z212's in 215/45-17

Here are anthracite SSR Type C-RS 17x7.5s on my DS MCS:

The color is very close to the DS color of the car. The picture does not convey this too well, as it depends on the lighting and the angle. The Dragon ate my two front caps, so they are not in the picture. The discontinued SSR Competitions with the machined lip are the same color, perhaps a bit lighter. I had these on the car until two of them got wiped out when I got run off the road. I have since managed to buy two replacements and will put all season tires on those for cold weather use.

It depends on who's gunmetal it is. For example, I asked the same thing when looking at Roto Slipstreams. Some pictures I saw had a hint of gold to the color. I asked and some folks said they saw some gold in the color, some didn't. In the end I didn't go with gunmetal. Not being able to see it in person I wasn't going to chance it as I didn't want any gold color in the wheel even if it was just a bit.

Both of my sets of wheels are " gunmetal ". The Hamman street wheels were black chrome powder coated which to me looks very close to the drk silver of the car . My Ro-Ja track wheels are a gun metal powder coat.

They work real well as a inexpensive track set. They weigh in at 14.5 lbs for a 17/7. I had a hook up as they were discontinuing them and was selling them for about $ 600 a set but they are all gone now. There may still be some on EBAY. I did have a set of Volk LE-37's for track wheels but I figured it was silly to have that kind of money tied up in wheels I was going to only use every so often so I sold them when this deal came along. If you see a set for sale snap them up , you can't go wrong.

Looks like they match the black of the fender flares more than they do the DS paint... Looks good though.

I was thinking about the wasps too but right now the Artics are $40 cheaper. Not enough of a difference in styles to be worth the extra $40 IMO.

Actually it is the lighting... I used my touch up paint for my Mini (DS) to fill in a scratch on th wheel. You can't tell unless you are right up on it.

I went ahead and got the wheels so I figured I'd add my pics for anyone who stumbles across this thread on a search. The color is a good match, however like the pics show, under most lighting conditions they look darker than the body color. I like them though.
