Would be great if you post pictures mounted in the car, both lit up and not.

I checked those instructions, but the R56 seems to be different. I think Lyle is right, it just pulls off without the need for tweezers. My fingers HURT!!

As far as calibrating goes, the needle stops at zero, even though there is no external stop, like older cars. This one must be internal. So If I pull the thing off near zero, I'll put it back on at zero and see what happens.

Also, I had to take apart much more than I thought I was going to have to. The speedo is attached to the CD player and must come out together. Therefore, the whole center must come apart, including the cupholder/console to allow room for the vertical section to move around.
The color line must be removed (the section w/ the key) and the glove box side must be loosened at the center, but not removed, to allow the speedo/CD to silde out a bit.

I'll post some more step-by-step stuff when I'm finished. "Finished"...at least I'm optimistic!

If it's like the 1st gen, there is no physical stop and the needle zeroes when the gauge receives power. So reconnect the gauge first, then insert the needle.

Do they make a overlay for the nav? I wonder how hard it would be to disassemble.

Robb - That looks awesome!!! - PM replied

Kyriian - We do not have a template for the km/h version. If you would like to send us your guages we would be glad to hook you up with a set of overlays.

Octo - We don't have a template for the NAV speedo either. If you want to send them to us, we can make a template for ya!

It's all finished. More pics are posted in the "CF gauges" thread (post #44)found here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...26#post2060426

As someone else stated, these threads should all be combined.

Thanks Vinyl Styles! I LOVE the inside of my car now!

Man Robb!! Those look soo sweet with your piano black dash.
Your right, from those pics, it doesn't look like daytime visibility will be an issue.

Sorry about the gauge threads all over the place, I get a little excited sometimes
Mods - Can you combine these threads?

Lyle

Chrono gauge overlays

We are putting the finishing touches on the overlays for the 05-06 MINI's with the chrono package.

We are pleased with the results and hope you will be as well.

These will be offered as overlays, or overlay w/ adhesive backing.

Pricing to be determined. As always, many color combos and customizations available.

Enjoy.....

Wooo i like these faces. not sure on the dark ones, like people have already commented, but them chrono pack faces are cooooool !!

I thought id also chime in on the needle replacement for the R56. Of course ive been working on the dash lighting for the first blue/white R56 dash lighting that i know of in the UK (i started September last year i think on the project) and the needle is becoming abit of a pain in the side.

It takes some force to come out, and is nothing like the gen 1 style MINI. The needle comes out of the speedo face along with the spindle and no matter what i do to replace it, it ends up in a different position. Even with ignition on then replacing, it just seems to go out of alignment.

Of course more time and research will highlight what needs to be done, i just wanted to tell you all to be careful when removing the needles.

We do not have the template for the 07+ Nav gauges yet. If you'd like to send us the nav gauge, we would be glad to send you a set free of charge.

You just let me know when you do finally make one and I'll get one! I'd love a set that's black and hot pink

sorry to revive this, but its the first time i've seen images of faces for the chrono pack folks.
One question do the numbers have to be cut out? Is there anyway to just to a 100% new overlay (black face with white numbers) or will it prevent light from making it thru at night?
I'm dying to black out my gauges.

Ooo, haven't done a checkered set yet. We may have to throw a black border around the numbers so it helps visability.

Do you happen to have a set kinda-almost-the-same as the GP's gauges?
