I'm not sure if/how the needle needs to be recalibrated. If you mark where you pull the needle off, and put it back on in the same position, you should be good.
We don't have any night shots of the gauges yet, as we do not have a MINI to test them on.
I can see how there may be an issue with daytime visability. But if you know your car, you know when to shift and how fast your goin'
We will have gauge overlays available for the R53 in a week or so.
R53 with nav will follow soon after.

Very Nice VinylStyles I have a Mellow Yellow MCS. I think the Satin Black and or Brushed ALuminum would look awesom
It would be sweet to see a wide shot photo of the Black or Brushed Aluminum installed in a MINI with Daytime and Night Pics. Just to see how it looks on the dash. I bet it would look really well! It would tone down the bright white guages as they are now on the MINI.
Our Guages are backlit...see how JUST the numbers light up...so it wont be a problem. Just the daytime readability for the darker colors, they most likely would need a outline around the numbers kinda like the stock ones are. Here is a pic of my TACH litup during the day.....see the orange light?

Hey Lyle,
What are the chances that these overlays would take to different types of pen/markers to outline each number to make it more visible? I'm considering getting a satin black overlay and outlining each number in Red. Or, how strong are they? Would it be possible for us to lay some vinyl over the numbers and carefully cut out an outline using an exacto knife?

im seriously interested in these gauges - i would get some crazy custom ones to match the emblems Lyle made for me - the emblem pic is here - http://www.lylesvinylstyles.net/imag...enji_front.JPG
i think for the gauges i would go with Dark Silver with Benji in the same font in red in the middle and black outline maybe? or have the Benji outline and fill in the letters with black somehow and get red around the numbers going around the gauges - that would be the best idea in my opinion but i would have to see what Lyle would charge for some seriously custom work like that..all things aside (well only price really) i know Lyle would bust those out looking fantastic, as with the rest of his work - flawless.

You want it! You got it!
R53 Speedo
Shown in Gloss black w/ chili red border
And yes....we can make the center of the zero's red
or whichever color you'd like!
We'll also be eliminating the km/h business, so you can rock em custom. More room for your logo/design
dsg - we need a template for the EU gauges. If you would like to send us your gauges for a template, we will send you a set for free. The price will likely be the same, but S&H will apply.

More friendly advice: When you cut the numbers, the white color of the underlying material shows on the edges. This makes it very obvious this is an overlay and cheapens the appearance a bit. If you can go with a black underlying material, the black won't show as much as the white after they are cut. You can really notice it on some of the photos in your other thread and on your website. The carbon fiber and huge photo below shows the effect pretty well. Again, friendly advice to help make sure you have the best product available.

its a cream white...the problem is that a pepper white car with cream interior has two creamy whites...neither are pure white, and neither are the same type of cream as the other
I may just come up with some sort of black and orange checkered or some kind of design to have turned into a gauge face (orange turned out to be my unexpected accent color because of the interior lights, mood lights, and turn indicators )

It pulls right off and you just have to be brave about applying enough force. You may need a thin screwdriver to help pry it off the pin. Some instructions and photos here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=129178
Would be great if you post pictures mounted in the car, both lit up and not.

When you take it off could you see how it goes back on? I want to find out if there is a notch that makes it install back to the same position everytime or if it's something you have to eyeball and hope is accurate (possible even get it calibrated)
