Hi @3d914

Thanks for excellent post on your FBE debug.
I am having same issue for my 2011 Mini Cooper R56. Where is the fan relay located? Which is blown fuse you are referring to?

Jean

Did you sell your FBE?

That and some of the programming didn't appear to take. My wife notices the remote keys don't work, there's no driver-select shifting option, and the remote engine start (without the key fob in the receiver) doesn't work either.

Take it back and it turned out all of those issues were due to a blown fuse. They also resolved the A/C issue by replacing the fan relay - go figure! So at least everythings working again. The original FBE part will go up on Ebay soon.

Did you sell your FBE, the garage thinks mine is suspect _ car keeps cutting out and will not restart then runs fine for weeks, large relay getting hot. I am in Canada would you post it if you still have it? I will of course cover any shipping costs.

Does anyone have pictures showing removal? All the relevant pictures seem to have disappeared.

I appear to have an intermittently faulty FP relay.
A new replacement JBE is on national backorder as per my local stealership.
Has anyone tried one of the repair services which test and replace any failed components such as the fuel pump relay which is soldered to the board?

I was looking at this one:

can you just unsolder and resolder a new relay? Its not rocket science.

you may have no choice. Buy another relay and bring it to an electronics shop and ask them to put it on.

Thanks for your helpful advice. Does anyone else actually have experience with using an repair service like the one above?

No, I don't have experience using the service but I do think I can handle the electronics repair. It probably isn't too complex.

I'm having the same problem you are -- my fuse panel is not supplying power to the low pressure fuel pump. Panel likely busted. The fact that the service exists, and you also have the problem, suggests this is a "common" problem area.

I'll take out the fuse panel, examine the PCB, and report back on my results. It might just be a blown trace, it might be there's a relay that ... powers the LPFP fuse? or some other electroncis surrounding the LPFP. But probably not too complex like I said, and I anticipate just a matter of replacing the broken trace or part with an equivalent (or superior) part, plugging it back in and driving off. Wish me luck!

Thanks.
It looks like this walkthrough is what I would need to do. My car is at the mechanic and I would like to drive it home before taking out the fuse panel and fixing it. So my plan is to power the low pressure fuel pump directly with 12 v to get fuel pressure, then drive the car home and do this process.

It's a bit sketchy messing with electrical right next to the fuel. I will update here how I do it or if I decide there's a less risky way to go about this. In any case, looks like that video describes how to fix the panel.

update:
This post describes the connector pinout/wiring to power the low pressure fuel pump directly. It's all sealed up so not so sketchy to power the pump. My back seats are already out so I won't have much trouble reaching this. Hopefully I can just connect a second 12v battery here direct, drive home, then fix my JBE!
