Get yourselves some Oil Catch Cans if you plan on keeping your MINI's past warranty along with regular carbon/sludge removal treatments.
What OCC are you running? I only know of 2 for the Mini which are M7 and Riss racing which are basically the same OCC. I have also heard that they are not baffled and to look into the this OCC http://www.42draftdesigns.com/catego...catchcans.html the only problems with the 42 draft designs ones are they are universal fit and don't have a mount for the Mini.

I was using the M7 can and no it's not baffled. I will be purchasing the 42 draft designs can and fabbing up a mount. For now I'll just run the hose out under the car.

Let me know what you use to fabb up the mount because I am not that mechanically inclined to fabb things together.

Sorry for being a noob, but I'm not sure which hose it is. I pulled off the one here and it smelled like gas and had some nasty looking stuff pouring out of it. I don't see where it goes to the other side of the engine like in the diagram. The length of it sits on the top of the engine behind the cover. The one in the video and the one in the diagram look a lot thicker than this one.

Here is my engine bay. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Well I did it in that hose and it seemed to work. Smoke POURED out of the exhaust already!! Waiting about a half hour before starting her up again.

So my butt dyno says that there was definitely a gain in power. When I was given a loaner Clubman-S it felt faster than my MCS. Now it feels just about the same. I am going to give my S another treatment this week. Maybe I will let it sit for an hour or so. Idle is so much smoother and the whole car just runs smoother all around.

I didn't get a lick of smoke. Maybe it was because I did this on a hill? I'm not to sure what do you guys think? I have an 05 MCS with about 62,000 miles. I also put in about half a can into the pcv valve and waited 35 minutes.

You should have had some smoke regardless. I'm assuming you put it in at #1 here on this diagram?

When I treated my R53 I used a small hose(just like in the video) and let it pull the fluid out to the point of almost a stall then let it catch up and repeat a few times. It sounds like your not getting enough in there in a short enough time. You not going to hydrolock the motor even if you stall it. If you do stall it then you know there's plenty of fluid in there so just wait 15-30 minutes.

I actually just did it again and i got a lot of smoke. This time I did it on a flat surface and used a squirt bottle to put it in the hose. I also put it in faster this time, the first time I squirted it in slowly. Should I do this again tomorrow or wait a little bit to do it again?

First treatment half can via spray bottle @ 26000mi in my MC. Waited an hour. Lots of smoke for about 5 minutes of driving. Feels smoother for sure. Idles less than 700rpm now vs almost 800 before. Guess I'll save on gas now while I wait at stoplights now lol.

I've used Seafoam my other vehicles. When I do them, I dribble the Seafoam in until there is a few tablespoons left, then pour it in fast enough to stall the engine. Then I let it sit for 40 minutes or so before starting and blowing out the crud. This pulls a good amount of the liquid in that coats everything, before it's pulled through the motor and combusted. It seems to work very well.

Is this method safe to do on the MINI? Should I just dribble it in, then shut off the engine with the button, before letting it sit?

I'd be wary of flood till stall...

you're probably safe with that little liquid, but going to far down this road will lead to hydrolock. I'm a fan of suck it in and kill the motor while sucking. This turns it into a two person job though....

May sound a bit odd, but I've gained about 2 - 3 mpg after using this stuff!

I'd say that is a good gain for a bottle of seafoam at 10 bucks a can. I'm doing my 2nd treatment tomorrow with a can in the gas tank too.

could you point out in you photo where and what tube you poured into. i'm so bad with this stuff. it's why i'm not much of a modder. i just don't know all the jazz under the bonnet very well.

then did you just stick a tube in the can and feed it like in the video?

Its on the top left side of the block. It's a small hose, much smaller than the one in the video. I used some tubing from fish tank supplies and let the car suck it out of the can. I'll try and make a vid tonight for us R56 people that don't know this car very well yet! Haha!

Haha, yeah I was the same way!! Then I did the whole thing and I was like, wow that was really easy. An extra set of hands sure does help though. I'll try to take a vid tonight as I still have about a 1/3rd left. Hopefully it won't be too dark!

Im planning on doing this today. I just want to make sure I am putting it in the right spot. Here is a copied pic of an R56S engine bay. Is the red arrow were the seafoam goes in?
