Did mine 2 days ago. I decided to cut the ends flush with the stock break in the bumper.

First picture was when i used big washers, notice the bulges coming out, so went back and used smaller diameter washers, looks great now.
I did this about 2 weeks ago, sorry about the dirty filthy car. I SWEAR ITS NEVER LIKE THIS!!! So because of the dirty car and just putting black wow on the splitter quick, it looks kinda bad. oh well!

But seriously, i do it for reasons like if i were to sell my car, or if i was trying to get warranty for something, a picture of ur license plate says "IT IS MY CAR". Which sometimes u might not want. Also personal safety. I am in law enforcement and there are a lot of wacko's out there. I have a lot of enemies because of my job... I dont want to give another easy way to know what i drive or more.

I guess its the same thing as why we use screen names on websites

Wow! I hit something on the first day I brought my MCS home (in the dark) and had someone tell me, "you have something hanging down in front"...

I used wingnuts to reattach the dam under the aerokit spoiler/bumper. This looks like a pliable (important) fix that will really make the front end aero kit more functional again. Thanks for the tip! Never would have thought of the garage door stuff.

Looks like one of those fancy Ferrari splitters that increase downforce as you go faster. Cool.

Since I have installed this mod, I have hit (boo) two dead animals large enough to hit this "Splitter" and the stock airdam. Aside from a bit of hair this thing is no worse for it.

I hate when that happens....

Out here in Azirona, we get a lot of "alligators" in the road. The very first time I took Nudnik down I-10 to Tucson (instead of the back road), I got off the on-ramp at Eloy and within 2 miles, a truck in front of me kicked up an "alligator", which put a slight crease in my air dam....

Gotta get to Lowe's and snag some of that stuff to put one on my car....

C ya,
Dutch

Did the air dam modification with a piece of 1/8" x 1" aluminum bar stock and the aforementioned Home Depot garage door seal. This was too easy to do and now that I've had it on for a month, I kick myself for waiting so long. It probably extends another inch further down than the aero kit air dam did. I think it deflects more air and even at "ahem" higher speeds there is no squirrely feeling at all - car feels planted.

I'm in Colorado so I'm a little concerned about what this will do in snow but I have enough left over material to do this again at least three times!

Do it!

I was thinking this can't look good - until I tried it. The garage seal is just pliant enough to flex when it needs to but stiff enough to work effectively as an air dam. For a DIY project, I'd score it a 10.

Sorry to bring this back up, but

have some of you just used the 3m tape to hold it up... or even the 3m weatherstrip adhesive

I just tried this but the 3m tape I used wouldn't hold onto anything. Need to find something different

**edit**

got some le page brand double sided tape. Still wouldn't hold for one second. I'll give it another go some other day.

I did my mod after the front lip had been damaged, cracking in the middle part of the lower bumper. To fix, I bought a piece of steel and screwed through the bumper providing an firm edge across the entire front air dam area. I used both the double sided tape and pop rivets. After a year, there were areas between the pop rivets that the dam began to sag. Finally, I went through Terrible's carwash in Las Vegas at the AMVIV9 rally and removed the entire installation. I'm shopping for a new aero kit front bumper. Trust me, the garage door modification looks great and is $400 cheaper!
