Come on all you Mini owners These items will work on MC and MCS and to prevent the famous mushrooming of the strut tower which many have no matter where you live, and the 180 degree thermostat will lower engine temperture and allow the engine to run cooler

Argh, once again we are jumping between the three threads. I answered your questions where your questions were originally posted.

i'm a bit of newbie, literally about 1 1/2 months, when it comes to my MINI.

basically the M7 SRP is to prevent mushrooming. what does mushrooming mean?

and the thermostat keeps the engine running cooler and perhaps perform better?

any idea what this does to the warranty on the car... one of my biggest concerns at the moment since i'm not even 2 months into that warranty period.

that mushrooming is something most people don't notice until it's pointed out to them. basically it's those kinda domey things (towers) on either side of your engine bay. notice how the top is kinda flat mostly. mushrooming would be more rounded...like a mushroom. although i believe it could be not necessarily the whole top; it could be just 1/2 of the top. not exactly sure though how much mushrooming affects the driving dynamics.

if you're one to fly thru the streets of town, ie. kapiolani, and ignore the potholes, you're a bit more at risk of getting the mushroom effect. and with all the rains happenning, the potholes will be popping up even more.

180 thermostat...i believe will be more useful for us cause of the warm weather we have together with the hot temps our minis generate. hotter engine and hotter air can make our cars run less efficiently, and less power.

not sure about the warranty...srp though shouldn't cause any problems, as it's just an add-on basically that can easily be taken off yourself if need to.

hey andrew...so you were at pahke's monday night? stop by at the single story white building next door on kim chee's side. we're the middle shop right by the soda machine with the tinted windows. our nice vinyl sign that was on the roof finally fell apart sometime last year during one of those wind storms, and we haven't gotten around to replacing it yet. but we are open for business. i always park in that last slot by the bus stop...well, actually it's my own slot past the last legal parking spot, where only our minis can fit without looking like it's parked illegally.

SRP $100 + tax + divided shipping
Thermostat $40 + tax (free shipping)
This only apply for the group buy of 5 each minimum.

In order to have it here before the DIY session, the dead line is this Sunday the 12th. Hope all of you will take adventage of this. Thanks.

Aloha casper_mini, welcome to NAM. Sorry for the late aloha.

New comers are defintely welcome, especially if you are already a member of our Hawaii MINI Motoring Club (HMMC). This is actually an HMMC event so we would like to address our member's needs first, however, I think it would be a good opportunity for you to meet HMMC members and see if it's something you like to be a part of. Please sign-up on the DIY thead. Hope to meet you soon.

5.

Thank you for those who signed up for the group buy. Unfortunately we only have 4 people wanting the SRP as 5 minimum required for the special price FYI, the SRP will be price at $109 and shipping will be split amount the buyers at least there's little saving there.
As for the thermostat the price will remain at $40 no shipping charges

Thanks again gang

Andrew,
Are you saying that 109 will be the price for the 4 of us plus shipping and handling, or is that the price all the time?
