As far as HMMC goes, well, we had to push back our owner's picnic to August (maybe even September). We're currently being held up by legal/regulatory and tax issues (so if anyone has knowledge they want to share with us, please do).

If you folks want to do a meet, we still could.

How's about Kaka`ako park at 11a on Saturday (7/24)? We could get away from the parking lot this time and sit where there are no flies and bugs. (Bring your own chairs and lunch)

Post here if you folks are interested I'll send this information to the yahoo group, too.

i think i'd go. first time i heard of this though.

btw, i just received an e-mail regarding a bmwcch get-together at round top on, i believe 7/25. i think it's a big thing as food is being served, and therefore, rsvp is required. anybody going to free food sunday? it's supposed to be korean.

i MIGHT go on sunday to the BMWCCH thing. Not sure yet. Since I'm not a member, I would pay $7 (I think) for lunch.

OK, folks.

If you are "thinking" about coming out this saturday to join some of us for an informal get together at Kakaako park (or a location of your choice) then
Please do post something here so keikilee will know that you are reading this.

Often times people are lurking and don't post so we have no idea of who will be there if we have something.

I will be glad to attend but I cannot leave MINIlani until 12 noon to get there.
So who else is interested?

Well, whether or not you folks do this, I can't make it anymore, anyways.

If you folks meet up...have a great time!

So far only KBseto and I are interested in meeting after 12 noon at Kakaako park. I'll be at the 11am sunday round top picnic as well.

I'll be watching this thread untill about 1130am today to see if anyone else is coming out today- if so then post something so we know you're coming.

Well it is 11am and no one else is responding so I think I will have to stay and work today. I won't be driving in to Kakaako at noon.

Tomorrow I will be at round top for the BMW CCA picnic at 11am
Don't forget to bring you own drinks.

gina's?! oh yeah, that was my old fave spot in the mid 90's. just haven't been hanging around in kaimuki/kapahulu area too much recently, so i haven't been back there, yet. but a taste today might be enuff to persuade me to come on back.

btw, i like that toritos place next door to gina's. just tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and went back yesterday. tacos pastor is the deal. a pair of double corn tortillas with grilled pork slices and vegie fixings. split the toppings in half and you get 4 corn tacos pastor for $5-6. add rice and beans for some leftover gas and it comes out to $8-9.

and don't forget the dessert. best so far was the apple chimichanga with ice cream for $4.

but for now, i'm off to roundtop for some good old gina's.

good stuff

the food from young's in aiea was good stuff. i ate there a few summers ago when i was working at the aiea medical plaza right across the shopping center.

good choice. better yet, i got to make a "plate" to go, kinda like a bento of all the leftovers. of course, i will share it since i had my fill from lunch today.

btw, on the way back down, i think it was the dark green z3 or z4 convertible that was tailing me and the poor sedan ahead of me. i finally decided to pull into a side street to let him pass me. i could kinda tell he was itching to test out his car's handling as he would slow to build up a large space in front of him and then fly it til he got close to my hi-nee. then he'd repeat the cycle. unfortunately, i really couldn't accomodate him due to sedan in front, as well as the fact that i had my leftover "bento" with ample juice that was simply covered with foil. i wasn't about to mess up my just-cleaned mini with some korean juices.

also, while pulled over at one of the look-out sites, i noticed a black honda s2000 that was pretty much high-tailing it up and didn't seem to mind taking up the whole road on the sharp hairpin turns. luckily for me i was already pulled on the side when he came whirling by.

And what's wrong with that? That's the way I drive on spirited roads, especially since my car is much bigger than a MINI! Didn't you learn anything at Spring Fling? You MUST take the proper racing line!
