I can't believe you guys burned up that much fuel! I think I'm gonna have to bring a tanker truck to the track and sell 92 octane for $3 between run groups!

100 minutes of driving!

I used less than half a tank of regular unleaded 87 octane.
I usually can get about 27 mpg with my 3 liter V6.
I'd estimate on the track I got about 23 mpg.

Only half a tank and 23 mpg?!!!!!!!!! You sure you were going full throttle?

Both bgrpph and I used 3/4 tank. Much more thrills than Six Flags and the gas was cheaper than the entance fee at those parks!

23 mpg on a 3.0 V6? You definitely were not going ***** out! I think the MCS' were pulling maybe 12 mpg. My 6er used to pull about 8 - 10 mpg while on the track.

Too bad we can't get an annual pass to DEs like we can for Disneyland and Six Flags.

I get good gas mileage with my Maxima. Even in heavy traffic I get about 20+ mpg. Same with my MCS, worst is about 20 mpg but that includes driving to and from the track. I do recall that I burned maybe 2/3rds of a tank last year.
That's good to know because you'd need 3/4ths for a full day of driving.

And yes I was not going full throttle but when my instructor was driving he was getting a bit closer. But he drove maybe 10-11 laps total all day. Rarely did I see him really drive full throttle because you can hear it if you get it that high. Mostly just smooth but hard acceleration.

If we were going full tilt we would have broke something or blown out that worn tire we were nursing for the last two long track sessions.

With the commute to/from the track from Mililani, and the track time, Lucy burned up about 3/4 of a tank.

Now, how about tire rubber consumption?? Lucy's right front tire is aaaallll ate up (the left one ain't so smooth either). I had a great time though, well worth the money.

In another thread on Happiness and your MINI,
Randy Webb wrote that for him it's using up a full tank of gas at the track in one day.
Wow, that's alot of gas to burn up. Figure he'd also leave a good amount of rubber on the track as well.

So next time I've got to be sure to bring no less than 3/4ths tank of premium gas. Also get the backup car ready just in case plan B needs to snap into action.
