My Nephew selling at reduce price for me a set of SSRIII GPO Evolution (chrome) from his Honda Civic ). . I have H-Sport spring, H-sport lower control arm with H-sport comp. rear sway bar.
Right now the rim has 215-40-17 and noticed rubbing on the back so if I change to 205-45-17 would it still rub?
The rim has 37 offset. I appreciate your comments
Thank You in Advance.

btw:I might get it for free!!!!! Since he always ask me a favor

i think that the 37mm offset will be your biggest problem not the tires.

Isn't the ctock offset for 16's in the mid 40's? If so, you'd have to use a hubcentric spacer to alleviate the problem. I prefer not to use spacers, but 5mm to 10mm isn't that bad.

I do have hubcentric installed on the car. I took some pics with the rims installed, looks nice in crhome but I can't
figure out how to attach the pic.
The-Beastmaster maybe you can show me how...
Thanks

Go to gallery on the left menu, Regional Events, Album Hawaii, then in the drop down menu on the upper right, choose add photos.

RoyT,
The problem with your plan is the 37mm offset will work for a MINI with the stock suspension only. For your H-sport springs the limit is about 42mm offset.

So no matter which tire size you choose I'd expect rubbing to be an issue.
You can trim the inner upper lining of the wheel arch from the inside to make room for the tire for a bit more room or get wheel arch flares.

The offset from the imaginary centerline of the rim.

no offset > l <

+ offset >l <

- offset > l<

I look under the trim looks like theres not much to cut, plastic arches same width as the metal
part, if just the plastic I am willing to sacrifice the metal part neh!!!
Thanks

btw: I am still learning how to add pics, uploaded at gallery/hawaii pg.15 from that page
what do I need to show up to this forum?????

That's funny DaKineMini
I am planning to take it down but my MINI comes first....
Anyone interested in H-Sports Spring??? I might consider Minihune's advice see if it works, i'll
keep the sway bar and control arm as is for now.

Roy - Is the hub bore on the wheel the same as the hub bore on the MINI? If not, you'll need the hub ring so it fits snugly on your hub. Without it you might have a shimmy.

will you guys stop trying to sell stuff....i was interested in the h-sport spring that mini-t was selling, but dakinemini stepped up first. I might be interested, but not sure since my hopes and dreams were crushed by dirk.

you should just keep the h-sport, you might want to put them back on later...

That is about right for the weight.
The R90 two piece rims are about 24 pounds each.

Chrome rims are about 2 pounds heavier per rim in 17" due to the chrome plating.
But they do look good.
Don't scratch them!!!

I know you are kidding about the 18" rims-
Cause the downside is 18" rims weigh more, tend to be wider than 16" rims so the tires are wider and may be heavier. And the tires tend to be 35 series low profile that look good but add to bumpiness.

Maybe ask Erik808 how his MC with H-sport springs does with 16" wheels. I think he is doing OK, no rubbing and pretty good ride. He'll be at the autocross on April 4 hopefully.
