Normally when you bring in your car for service the Service adviser will look at the car actual mileage
then enter all that info into the data base. In my case after I drove my car home and look at all the information on the
work order I found out that they listed mine 22,000 miles although my actual mileage is 5456(Aug. 02).
Anybody knows why??
Is it because they calculate base on the average annual usage of 10-15000 miles/year?

Roy - They probably made a mistake on your car. The SA's do check the mileage on your odometer, but what triggers the mileage on your Repair Order is your key. There is a blue rectangular object on all of their desks with an inner black circle that has a rectangular cut out. The SA's place the key in there and it downloads the mileage. There is a possibility they may have used the info from someone else's key. I would check with your SA regarding this erroneous reading.

uhhh, are you sure you only got 5400 miles on a 08/02 mini?

i think i broke the 6000 mark this past month. and mine's a 10/03 mini.

if you'd like me to help you catch up on your "normal" mileage, i'd probably rack it up in ~ 1 year. i believe erik808 would rack it up in ~1/2 a year.

i think erik808 and me are the mini mileage kings on oahu. currently, i think i'm doing 30 from home to ewa beach, then 15 to mililani, then 25 back to home. 3x/week. 2-3x/week i vary from 10-60 miles/day.

this is one of the reasons why i p/u a mini in the first place. cause it's much more easy on the gas than my p/u.

hmmm...this leads me to another thread topic. cheap gas locations.

The-Beastmaster, i don't think its a mistake as soon as i handed over the key they tagged with my name
on it. The work order also indicates that the coolant tank was changed 1 1/2 month ago (4900 miles)
I think it is base on warranty 3yrs/50,000 miles since mine is 1yr 6months halfway through warranty.

kbseto: yeh I better put more miles to catch up, I'm putting my truck out of commission for now my safety
check and registration about to expires this month and I can not get them..... CRACKED windshield!!!!!!!
Actual miles up todate 5680....

Roy - Man that car has some low miles! You better get out and motor before your warranty is up. Speaking of warranty, I believe is it 4 years/48k and the service is 3 years/36k.

Off topic, I'm watching American Idol and I had to do a double take as you look like Jasmines father. Or vice versa.

RoyT,

The key is what tells the dealership whose MINI it is and what the miles are. Use both keys on a regular basis.
The 22,000 miles must be an error and you can point it out when you see it.

I voted for Jasmine because I like RoyT.

today, i got a mileage reading that was 4 miles in excess of what was written on my completed repair order...and needless to say, i'm not happy.
