Just a shout out to all the mini owners in Hawai'i. I just picked up my 04 MCS. Hope to meet some of you at any events on Oahu.

i think next sunday might be the island mini cruise. somebody will confirm this.

mini and a movie on the 2nd sunday of every other month, i think. again, somebody will confirm this.

and if you're into competitive driving...auto-x at hawaii raceway park something like once a month. yeah, somebody will provide more info on this. otherwise, if you're like me, i'm just waiting for the twice yearly driver's school to test out my mini skills.

oh yeah, i got the brg/w mcs with roof racks.

This month there will be a MINI cruise from the dealership but not this sunday due to autocross on Feb 8th

After 3 painful months on mainland for knee joint replacement, I'm out of things. Minihune, is there a movie this month??? Please? Love to see you all.

P.S. A neighbor gleefully drove Sadie twice to keep her in trim. I'm soooo glad to have her back.

 

Sadie - Glad to see you back online! 3 months for your knee replacement? That's a long time. Mom had hers done two years ago and was at Rehab for a month. After that, she was up and around and driving.

Welcome to the life of motoring and the 24 hour world of NAM. I am also on the Leeward side (in Makakilo) so I'm sure I'll see you around. I too am going to the autocross (to check it out) for the first time this Sunday. I am meeting erik808 (Erik) in Kapolei and we are heading out to the track. Do you want to come along? Oh yeah, should you two decide to run, spend the next several days getting your hands on a "Snell M"-rated helmet (maybe borrow from a friend?). I've said this before but here I go again... those loaner helmets are not healthy ops: . It's a very nice gesture (no charge with your HDL as collateral) on SCCA Hawaii's part but still ops: ... Then again -- maybe that's just me as I'm a neat & germ freak

 

Neat and germ freak? How can you work around all those little kids? You know, those lovable one that like to hug you with the hanabata comming out of their noses? When I was at the school level with all the kids, I would catch soo many colds. After I moved to different offices in district and state admin, I was pretty healthy. Well, that is until my secretary's kids got sick and she brought the germs to work.

And don't forget ukus! What's up with that in Hawaii schools?!?! OK, maybe that's only Kapolei. But I agree, definitely need your own helmet. Nothing like a hot sweaty rental helmet!
