alas, the samples are done! they are made of bling bling STAINLESS STEEL (not cheap aluminum). i have 10 for sale @ $10/piece. you will need to purchase a 3/4" screw b/c the stock 1/2" screw is a tad bit too short for the side holding the safety check sticker holder...or if i go to home depot, i can pick some up

the 2-sticker holder:

this picture was taken indoors, thus explaining the ugly yellow hue.

the 3-sticker safety holder (for those who want recon or want to put a sticker or something on it) looks like this:

count me in for a 3-sticker holder.

btw, that 808motoring store is exactly what we need over here. i would guarantee buy my stuff from you. in fact, if it's gonna open some time soon, i've got some stuff i'm gonna order in the next few months or so. so you already got at least one customer banging on the doors.

please let me know if you want a 2- or 3-sitcker holder.

the 3-sticker holders do not require new screws as you will be attaching the holder directly to the plastic underneath the license plate.

btw, wanted to let everyone know that you can put the holder on the left or right of the license plate. i might put another one on the left and put some stickers on it

Hey guys.

Let me introduce myself first...

My name is Rupta, I have a Red MINI with a black bra. I commute from Ewa to Waikiki, so maybe some of you have spotted me somewhere. I just found out about this forum yesterday, so I'm a newbie, but I was interested in the 2-sticker holder. Please let me know how I can buy this from you.

Thanks so much! I'm glad I found this forum.

Aloha Rupta!!!
The other morning I saw a Red MINI with Black top on McCully going Waikiki bound. It had really dark tint, perhaps that was you?

Anyways, if you are interested in any group buys as posted by mini-t, you can place your order by sending an email to minigroupbuys@hotmail.com Make sure to include your name, what you are interested in, and a pager or cell phone number where she can reach you. Then as the orders come in, she'll contact everyone with a place and time to meet to complete the transaction.

Hope this info help.....and hope I got it all right! he he!

Hello, keikilee! No, it's not me you saw. My MINI has a white roof (with sunroof). Since I'm new here, I wish there was a thread that I can read to get acquinted with everyone. Somewhere I can see their names and what kind of MINI they're driving.

Anyway, thanks for your tip. I just sent the email!

Rupta

quick update:

i have 11 holders @ $10/each reserved for those who have contacted me up to this point (including those who expressed interest in Dakinemini's original thread about sticker holders).

if anyone else wants one, the price is $13/each. why the increase? b/c i only had 10 made (i'm giving up one of my own to cover the 11th person) and will need to cover the cost to make additional ones --- if there are only a handful more, we still need to buy a large sheet of stainless. still a good deal considering anything else you find on the market costs more and is made of aluminum.

aloha,
mini-t

By the way, I haven't kept track of all the stuff I've told you I wanted to order ... I hope you have. It's hard to be that organized, y'know?

You're throwing yourself in front of the flying bullets and taking hits!
Thanks again for saving our lives.
Next time please remind us that the GB is limited to only 10 and the first to sign up get the "precious"
As Gollum would say in Twin Towers.

if you go to the first post, you'll quickly see that i had 10 for sale.

now that the pics are up, there are others who have asked about them -- rather than saying no, i thought i could ask my friend to order more material and make a few additional ones. the stainless comes in sheets that cost well over $100 and he would have to find use for the remaining piece. i'm trying to help him out with the cost -- especially if there's less than 10 being made.

I know it was 10. I know it was limited but in the feeding frenzy of a group, the count may be unclear until the dust settles and the bodies are counted. You are just too kind when it comes to completing the over board count.

It seems that there is a demand for this item. Why not make more than what you need and take names for investors.
I think we can find some venture capitalists to front the money to complete manufactoring costs and the product is small and easy to store (unlike tires). We can sell it to new owners as we go along. I have three cars and bought only one plate. Just have to figure out how many of the 2 vs 3 sticker plates to make based on demand so far. Use up the sheet metal and total the costs- secure the investor and market and sell the remaining stock. If you cannot find an investor send me a PM and we will fix it.

i know that aftermarket car stores, napa, and our very own MINI of hawaii sell similar sticker holders so i dunno if anyone we'll actually "invest" in them -- i can try to make sure that i always have a handful on me for new owners who express interest. i believe that the others are sold for $13.50 - $35 (higher than what my friend is asking for materials and labor) and they're made of thin aluminum, not stainless steel.

perhaps i'll have a whole bunch of them made (dont ask how many b/c i dont know) and sell them through 808motoring once i get it fully functional. final price? to be decided based on volume. there are others on the market so a potential buyer can decide for his/herself.

Sounds reasonable to me.
In general I'd rather buy my MINI gear from you (or the club with club logo- is that possible???)
Don't they make for good christmas presents? Put a little Hawaiian petroglyph logo on the edge or something.
Hang them up on your christmas tree after you paste some red and green glitter to them?
Hang them off your rear view mirror- start a new fad?
Use them as make shift boomerangs whoa they don't fly so well.
